Again, a fabulous dinner at District Bistro. Because it was Valentine's Day, there was a fixed-price menu: $65 for three courses. I started with the 1/2 dozen oysters (a treat!) and my partner had the house-smoked salmon with caviar. Both were delicious, but the salmon was a special surprise, topped with thinly sliced kumquats and capers; it was an unexpected taste sensation! I chose scallops for my main course--I almost always get them here, and they never disappoint. They were perfectly cooked and served over a warm black lentil salad. My partner chose the lamb chops that came with a tasty harissa-eggplant sauce. They were tender and cooked just right--a little pink in the center. For dessert, I had the kumquat and pistachio creme brulee. I wasn't sure about my choice, but it ended up being delightful. The creme was rich, but not too heavy and the crust on the top was caramelized perfectly. My husband had pear pecan sticky pudding--yum. We had been tempted to go elsewhere for Valentine's Day because District Bistro tends to be our go-to. I am glad we didn't!!

This place is a surprising gem in the heart of Wheaton. There are no other restaurants with similar food quality or menu anywhere in the area. It was great! Our server, Zack, was fantastic and really elevated the experience.

District Bistro is our go to restaurant. Excellent, well-prepared food paired with wonderful cocktails and a nice wine list. The service is always impeccable and friendly without being intrusive. A delightful dining experience!

We did an early Valentine's dinner a day early because the restaurants are all packed on that Sunday. I do not think I have ever had a better old-fashioned drink. My wife's Archer was also very nice. Then we had the calamari and the blood orange/burrata salad as appetizers. We split the lamb bolognese. The meal was amazing -- every bite we looked at each other and agreed this was wonderful. Our server was charming with some good recommendations when asked. Our second time this month at District Bistro. We will be back.

On weekends, if looking for quiet meal-ask to sit in bar area if they have a musician playing. Parking could be an issue-get there early

We had a lovely time at District Bistro last night. It was a special birthday celebration and our meal was just perfect! Our server was kind and considerate and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious. We had plenty of time to enjoy our meal at a cozy table for 2.

This little restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. But it's a gem. This is the third time I have dined here. The emphasis is clearly on good food. I always think you can tell a lot about a restaurant from how good the calamari is. Here it is sublime. I had the lamb Bolognese for my entrée, and it was full of flavor. It does seem that the word is getting out as the restaurant was pretty full. I highly recommend.

Perfect brunch spot - quiet with attentive service and lovely cocktails. This has become our regular brunch spot for reliably great food.

This was our first experience at District Bistro. The atmosphere is quiet and enjoyable. The food was very good. We shared two "small plates," as well as a main entree. We enjoyed all that we had. It's a shame, however, that the restaurant uses cheap cutlery and napkins that are too small to be useful. The forks and knives looked like they were from a dollar store, uncomfortable to hold and the knife was not up to cutting even the lettuce in our salads. The napkin was so small it didn't even cover part of my lap. This really detracted from what was otherwise a very enjoyable meal.

Cute place, pretty quiet, reasonable entree prices, wide variety of food choices, easy parking, good service

First, the waitstaff is delightful and knowledgeable and helpful. Second, the food is delicious. We had the appetizer of the day which was billed as crab beignets - fried but not greasy, very tasty - not sure if I'd called them beignets, but three to an order was perfect to share. My husband had the fish of the day - he almost licked the plate it was so good. I had the quinoa bowl. Everything was nicely cooked, not over sauced, and the beets were so amazingly good - I wish I could make them - a little vinegary, and warm, and yummy. Our only sadness was we were too full for dessert.

Upscale American Bistro. The service and food were excellent. Lots of interesting items on the menu and all the ones we tried were delicious. Service was knowledgeable, smooth, and polished. We'll be back.

Had lunch there with two of town friends. We each ordered something different—from lamb bolognese to salmon avocado burger—and all four of us loved our choices and would recommend DB highly!

I don't even know where to begin! My friend and I loved it. We went tonight at 5:30 feeling quite like two old ladies who usually go for the early bird specials...but we're not. Actually, we're quite rather sophisticated diners and District Bistro did not disappoint. While they say it's American food, it goes well beyond that with food tastes adopted and loved by the diverse palates found in America. I tried to categorize it as this cuisine or that cuisine and finally just settled on 'great cuisine.'

The wine selection was good and we both found what we liked. The cocktails looked delicious but we stuck with wine. We'll try those another time. We shared the pistachio dukka with harissa - delicious - and I had the shawarma bowl. Must say, it was better than any similar bowl I've had. I did add extra harissa to it just because I like a bit more spice but the flavors were fine without that. My friend had the pappardelle with wild mushrooms and other combinations of flavors that did not disappoint.

This being a Tuesday night we wondered how many customers they would get (yes, we were there ridiculously early and the only diners for about an hour!) but by the time we left other diners were coming steadily in.

I will be back next week with my husband and District Bistro will go into our regular rotation for when we're in town.

How wonderful to have this gem in Wheaton!
