Some of the best pupusas I’ve had in the Silver Spring area! The curtido that came with the pupusas was also very tasty. Everything we ordered was tasty and the waitress was so sweet. The restaurant was packed due to an event, so it took her a bit longer to get back to us with the check.

The service was excellent. We loved their Yucca Con Chicharrón, our fajitas were delicious as well as our drinks. Flan wasn't impressive... but you eat enough there you don't need dessert. They also had some karaoke there on a Friday night 🌙

I've been visiting El Gavilan for as long as it has been open, around 30 years. It has been my favorite Spanish restaurant in that immediate area.Food is always on point along with service.

Had Vegetable Fajita,comes with tortilla,rice,veggies,guacamole and beans. Food is tasty but had to wait for the food for a very long time,they serve chips and salsa.
Didn’t wait much for the table but took a long time to get the food.
Had lunch on a week day after 1:00 or so.

Alcoholic cocktails are delicious and very strong, with authentic Mexican style Pina coladas. Good is great and reasonably priced. Homemade tortilla chips and salsa.

Today I and my 3 friends went to eat at the restaurant, the food is very delicious but the service of the waitresses was terrible, when it came to paying the bill we asked to pay two bills which the waitress refused to do, So we said to pay everything together but she was putting a very high tip on our bill, which you were going to pay but when we told her that you would give the tip in cash she made a very unpleasant comment "I hope she leaves a tip because afterwards she doesn't leave anything" which I didn't like because tipping is not mandatory but it is the customer who decides how much and who to give it to. In some cases, restaurants include an additional charge on the bill for services, but federal law and many states do not recognize it as a tip. We said not to leave me any tip because of her bad behavior and very bad service, so a friend took away 5 dollars, she went out into the street to leave him the 5 dollars saying rude things and that she didn't need it!! She was yelling saying that in the United States you have to pay a tip! I feel that it is theft of her to want to collect a tip that she wants, the customer is the one who decides how much to pay as a tip, she cannot put a tip on the bill without first waiting for the customer to decide how much he plans to pay for the service I mostly go every week but this is the first time this has happened to me, none of the other waitresses had done something similar, it's a shame that such a nice restaurant has so many people working there.

Our waitress was cheerful and efficient so we had high hopes. Sadly, the food was not up to expectations. The crab and shrimp chimichangas turned out to be soft flour tortillas with a few threads of something alledged to be crab and a couple tiny pieces of shrimp in a totally tasteless base with no spice whatsoever, instead of the crispy seafood and jalapeno packet we had envisioned. Other diners at our table were equally disappointed in the lack of seasoning in their selections. Maybe it was the chef's night off?

I came to this places and this food is disgusting it not worth come over here i ordered pupusas and it nasty and it had more cheese then meat it not worth it to come here
