I recently dined at El Sapo Cuban Social Club, and it was an unforgettable experience. The vibrant atmosphere, delicious Cuban dishes, and amazing cocktails made it the perfect spot for a night out with friends!

We liked this restaurant. The service and atmosphere definitely contributed to the experience. We tried items from the happy hour menu which were nice, but the price seemed like we ordered from the main menu. However, we enjoyed the Cuban fare and would give them a 2nd chance next time we're in Silver Spring.

I had a great time at the Restaurant. I enjoy the food, the service and the atmosphere. The Ceviche with tamarin sauce was delicious, empanadas & tostones. Thank you so much for the great time!

The food was amazing!!!! Not super spicy and lots of flavor. Workers super nice and helpful. But the music was a little too loud

Wheelchair accessibility: They had other ways to get into the restaurant which was super helpful

Very disappointing experience overall. I don’t usually like writing bad reviews, but after my most recent experience at El Sapo, I will never return back.

The food was salty. The service was ok. It was a bit strange they wouldn’t let us buy a glass of wine, we can only buy a bottle and drink. Well…not everyone wants a bottle.

One family member ordered a salad. The salad had a bunch of wilted lettuce and spinach. We asked for a new one and the chef mentioned that it will all be the same, so to choose something else. I ordered the fried fish. It was also salty and something did not taste right. I felt a bit sick later in the night after eating the food - not sure if it was the quality of the food or just the upsetting experience.

The outdoor area had quite a few flies, granted they can only control that so much. All in all, not happy with the experience and it wasn’t the same type of experience I had years ago visiting this restaurant. For this reason, I’d likely not return.

We wait to 35m to be seated, very bad service, the waitress took to long to take our order, took longer to bring our food, the food wasn't great, the fish was salty and over cooked, since everthing was terryble I didn't leave a tip. Unfortunally I forgot my purse on the chair and left. When I came back to retreat my purse they were closing, I explained that I forgot my purse they didnt want to give it back. So. I called the Police, they made a drama for more than 1hr I have to call my friend ( lawyer) who helped me after two hours with the Police as the mediator, they finally gave me back my purse. I would give zero stars and never comeback, I do not recommended.

I recently tried El Sapo this weekend. I've been wanting to try this place as I love cuban food. After an hour drive to the restaurant we were seated right away. The ambiance and decor is very nice, the waiter was attentive. I don't think the food and drinks were worth the drive. We ordered the pitcher of mojito that tasted like lemonade. I think every cuban establishment should know how to make mojitos. The Empanadas were delicious, the Croquettes were good. I ordered the ropa vieja which is my go to whenever I have cuban food and it wasn't great, I didn't even finish the dish. The beans we had to order separate from the dish and they didn't impress me either. My boyfriend ordered the fried fish and it was really good. We ordered the flan and that was good also.
We received our bill and there was a 20% service charge on the bill that they said was for security, so definitely plan for that.

Let me say this place was a delight. Excellent service we sat outside patio and the place got crowded after we sat down. The crowd were mostly regulars I suspect as it was like a social club. If we would have been later I would have expected dancing to break out. The food was under priced and I don't find that comment coming from me these days. The owner Ranaldo happened by and knew one of my friends a former restaurant owner. Now the good part was the food we shared an ensemble of food I couldn't begin to write but I suggest all that is there not one complaint in five dishes. The three desserts we tried were magnificent if you like coconut the homemade ice cream is unforgettable. Edwin the waiter was on his game.

Soooooo good! Best pork dish of my life. Generous portions. Authentic flavors!!! Felt like I visited Cuba and dined with the locals. Photo was taken after we ate most of the CHICHARRON CON YUCA.

We went to El Sapo tonight because of recommendations by a Cuban friend. The four of us had such a wonderful evening sitting outside in perfect weather, enjoying great drinks and delicious food. The entrees were more than we could eat, but they will taste just as good tomorrow. Thank you El Sapo for such a great night out. We will return.

This is a nice Cuban restaurant in Silver Spring, MD! The service was great, I recommend reserving a table ahead of time since they get really full once happy hour starts. Great food, music, and overall atmosphere. Hands down best empanadas I’ve ever tasted!! I will be returning.
