I live in DC and grew up in Nicaragua. This is the best Nicaraguan food I’ve found in the DMV.

We ordered a few plates Togo. The chicken was dry no flavor, you could tell the fries were reheated, the steak didn’t even look like a piece of meat and it tasted old, the plantains were burnt. We were so disappointed we had to throw away most of our meal. This new management really needs to find a better chef.

It is not cheap but the truth is that it is worth it. I loved the super delicious food and the very good seasoning, but I do think that they should improve customer service. I visited them, it was my first time and I literally spent about half an hour sitting there. The cashier saw us, some girls came to clean the table and no one told us you have to order here at the cashier until I stopped to ask the cashier, all arrogant, told me, don't you see the sign that says order here and I told him, I don't see, well. A plant blocked the view of the sign, they should be a little kind because it was not difficult for them to tell us that they have to order at the checkout 🤷‍♀️ the cashier is a muscular tattooed man, I don't know if he is the owner but he has a horrible, very arrogant attitude as if one could reach ask or bother 😅

I was so excited to try our true Nica seasoning. More than anything, some enchiladas the way they are made there, Nicaragua. But the name really suits them, I ordered some enchiladas and in the first bite a hair came out, they were hard because they browned them a lot, and the entire edge was burnt. I'm not saying that all meals are the same but at first impression it was what I took away.

The young woman treated us very kindly, I bought a Nacatamal and I had a bad week because it had too much lard, I don't recommend the Nacatamal, my son says that the meat and pork are good

I had ordered through DoorDash once and the food was fine. A little salty but fine. So, I decided to go in person after a funeral next door. Upon arrival, I asked a man at the register with blonde hair and tattoos if the cut of the bistec and fritanga was the same. Since the moment he opened his mouth he was condescending. I then asked if i could get the bistec encebollado cooked as is but after cooking put the onions on the side. He said “No, that’s not the way they we do things here.” It literally takes one minute to set the onions aside to pack separately. I didn’t bother to order because of his poor customer service and social skills! I hate writing reviews especially bad ones but even after I said “it’s ok I don’t want to order.” He still proceeded to have a smart remark. I was so excited to had found a Nica restaurant in this area but never coming back again

I went to look for food and one of the owners handed it to me. I left without buying anything. He told me with disgust that I will never return to that place.
