I’ve never heard of this place before today but I happened to walk by on my lunch break and went in. The food was amazing the service was great and not only will I be back but I will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.

Everything about this place is fantastic. The vibes are amazing the inside is beautiful and the staff is out standing very friendly. The food was out of this world. I got the ribs with sticky sauce wow. Ribs were cooked perfectly with some of the best collard greens I ever had. My boy got the stinky wings and they were by far the best wings I ever had. I live in Nj but will gladly drive down anytime to get a great soul food meal. Thank you guys for everything.

Amazing food and an even more incredible team! With few soul food options in the SS area, Johnny Ray’s really stands out. The food has that comforting, home-cooked taste, and the portion sizes are GREAT for the price. You can tell the staff is passionate about what they do, (and their music playlist is pretty great too) . I’m definitely a fan and will be coming back for sure. I’ll make sure to recommend this spot to all my friends and family :)

New to the neighborhood and has lots of potential for becoming a great spot with a beer and wine license. It reminds me of a start-up Hitching Post restaurant.

Loved it! Definitely my lunch spot! Fried fish Bomb! If you want the big fish get whiting. Mac and cheese could be better but good cornbread & greens. Oh sides could be bigger though. Appreciate they separate everything for to go orders too.

It's so good. My friend and I visited during Howard's homecoming. I ordered meatloaf,yams,and collards. The cornbread is moist and sweet. Big portions.

My wife Antoinette and I are out here from California for a convention and we just did a search and found this place. This is the best Soul Food we have tasted in quite a while.

Right off the bat, the place has great atmosphere and music selection*chefs kiss*. The customer service was a 10/10 the cashier and the cook are very friendly, we were greeted and had all our questions answered. Now the food is sooo good and well seasoned. The cabbage and greens are well seasoned and had a slight kick to it. The mac and cheese was delicious and the chicken wings were fried hard and tasted so good. I will be back and wish we have place like this in Woodbridge. But I'm fine with driving out here for some good food. I highly recommend anyone looking for good ole soulfood or looking for great food/service to stop on by.

Came past from a day in DC. Food was excellent! Ribs and mac n cheese was exceptional! Wish they opened up in Woodbridge VA.

Johnny makes you feel right at home with the fresh food, clean atmosphere, amazing music always playing & just the comforting smile when you arrive. He knows his menu well & can help you choose depending on your taste palette. I work at the lash shop down the street and my coworkers and I have made this one of our staples for lunch time!
