Johnny Ray's Sultry Soul Food

The food was amazing! The half chicken with collard greens and yams definitely hit the soul. I will definitely make it a point to stop by here when I’m in the area.

I ordered ribs, mac & cheese and coleslaw! My dinner was scrumptious. I also had a slice of sweet potato pie. The only thing bad I have to say I was unaware of the free parking. I got my order to go so I plated my meal

We were looking for a restaurant in Silver Spring and came across Johnny Ray’s. The food was delicious and the The service was fantastic.

I thoroughly research restaurants before I go... let's start there.

I was immediately greeted when I walked in. Even with me not realizing I had got there before closing they treated me like the first customer of the day.

I didn't take any photos because they really do care about the quality and presentation of their food. Just look at the other photos taken by others it's always delivered like that I'de imagine from my experience.

Lastly the food was so good I mean... the best I have had in a long time. I barely left anything on my plate.

Bonus round: I requested mac and cheese and they would not serve it to me because it did not come out the way they wanted it to. ( Also it was near closing time so they were out of a few sides) That meant a lot to me. Blessing to this amazing spot and I hope others enjoy what I got to experience and taste.

The sticky wings were awesome. Love that sauce, never had anything like it.

I was in the silver spring area and came across this gem! I got the catfish sandwich and it was phenomenal! The banana pudding was great as well. Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other menu items.

So I saw the reviews for the place and I was like I have to try it! First order ordered peach cobbler they didn’t have it. Second time ordering they didn’t the collard greens. Ask for cabbage with kielbasa and just for cabbage.

Favorite fried fish, period. And the folks who work there are so nice as well - it’s fun to have a chat and see the staff’s dynamic as well. Johnny is a class act.

So glad I found this place! Drove in from the Philadelphia area to visit my daughter. Stopped in for an early dinner. Johnny Ray’s did not disappoint. Our food came to the table hot & it was delicious!! OMGOSH! Will definitely return soon.

This was a quick stop to eat, before me and my friend went to a comedy event. I was so happy we did, the food was so darn good. I love some soul food and I believe the cook put his soul in our food.
