I’ve driven past this place soooo many times and always side-eyed it because seafood boils and jollof rice felt like an odd combo. I also wasn’t sure how fresh the seafood would be. But curiosity finally won, and baby, I was pleasantly surprised.
The seafood was fresh, the portions were generous, and everything was seasoned and cooked well. The shrimp may have been cooked just a tad too long since the shells were sticking, but overall? I tore that plate UP.
I ordered pickup and the staff was super friendly and quick. When I went in, the restaurant was empty, but I can already tell this would be a fun spot to sit down and try out the bar one night.
This was also my first time trying suya and whew… very flavorful. Big fan.
First visit, but definitely not my last.

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. From the start, the experience was disappointing. I told the hostess it was his birthday, hoping for a warm welcome, but she just looked me up and down, said nothing, and started walking away. We assumed we were supposed to follow her. She seated us, handed us menus, then the drink menu fell on the floor, she made no attempt to pick it up, I did.
There were only two other tables occupied, yet we were completely ignored. The hostess was busy with one table, another server was handling the other, and neither acknowledged us again. After sitting for 25 minutes without even being asked for drinks or water, we decided to leave.
As we walked out, the male server was standing at the register. He didn’t say goodbye, didn’t ask if something was wrong, didn’t even look at us. For a restaurant experience—especially for a birthday celebration—this was incredibly disappointing. Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

We had a Ugandan event in this restaurant/lounge, and I enjoyed it. One thing I enjoyed was their suya! I think they have the best sugar I ever tasted! Also, the owner came to meet me and my cousin and thanked us for coming! That was a nice thing. One thing I want to complain about, though, is how one of the bar tenders put extra things on my receipt after my cousin had already paid for them. We did solve the issue, though, so that was nice. I would definitely go there for their Saturday nights. Also, it looks like it's a Cameroonian spot. We did meet many people from Cameroon. Looking to.go back again and enjoy other dishes.

Terrible experience - would not recommend dining in.
I visited Karen’s Seafood yesterday because my friend and I were craving a seafood boil, but from the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The bartender, Chris, was incredibly rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. Instead of greeting us, he called out my friend by saying, “Oh, you’re the girl whose card doesn’t work” — a completely false and inappropriate comment, especially considering it was our first time at the restaurant in months.
Chris paid far more attention to what appeared to be regulars than to us. We never received a simple hello or a “Would you like a drink?” — basic hospitality that any paying customer deserves. I had to flag him down just to get some attention, only to be met with a rude “I’m coming.” Even after that, he was dismissive, inattentive, and continued making slick comments throughout our visit.
The only person who treated us decently turned out not even to be an employee — just someone helping out!
What made matters worse was when it came time to pay. Chris gave me a bill with one total, but when I checked my receipt afterward, I saw my card had been charged a higher amount, with additional items I did not order. When I raised the issue, instead of apologizing, Chris had an attitude. They ended up getting a manager (or supervisor) to fix it, but my card had already been charged. The only thing they offered was $10 cash back, which wasn’t even the full difference. At that point, I was so aggravated, I just took it and left.
The food was not great either. The sausage in the seafood boil tasted questionable, the crab legs were overcooked, and the crawfish tasted old. I’m honestly just thankful I didn’t get sick.
Overall, the customer service was terrible, the food quality was poor, and the environment was uncomfortable. It’s no wonder the place was half-empty. I don’t know how they are still open. I had ordered takeout from here once before and it was passable, but after this experience, even that feels risky.
I will never return, and I highly advise others to think twice before spending their money here.
Chris behind the bar has bad customer service, tried to charge us different prices! Never again will I be back here!!
We did a seafood boil party for my husband. The seafood boils were sooo good. The sauce and the seafood was fresh and they were big portions. Our guests were so pleased that one couple booked it for their anniversary.
Dovis and her husband Elvis did an amazing job hosting a private event for my uncles 63rd birthday. Everyone had their own seafood boil and it did not disappoint. Snow crab legs, mussels, head-on shrimp, all seasoning and cooked to perfection.
Was given old dried snow crab legs, rubbery shrimp, old corn, a mushy potato’s.

Very poor customer service at the front desk
The bartender was very nice. I ordered fish and rice. The fish was terrible. It seems the fish was rush thawed out and fried. It was terrible. While waiting for my food, a customer came in very upset because of her order. The manager didn’t seem to do much to satisfy the customer. I would sit at the bar again. But I could never eat here again.

A real discovery! Had a wonderful lunch under new ownership. Previously seafood, then Chinese, and now African...and now have all three. We went with African and it did not disappoint. I had spicy goat with jollof rice...rich and flavorful. My wife had the suya and jollof and it was the winner. Our friend had spicy chicken and plantains. Service was wonderful and super friendly, and they patiently explained what these unfamiliar dishes were (jollof, suya, etc.). Big pours of wine and good beer. Large portions and great prices. I gave the atmosphere a "4" only because they could do so much to make the space special, adding some dividers, plants, etc. Having said that, it is a very large and comfortable space, with no bad seats. There is a really attractive and stylish full bar in the back, which we'd like to check out in the evening next time. Highly recommended.

A friend told me about this restaurant, but I was very reluctant to go there because, I had never had any meal from there. But when I had my first lunch there, I found myself going there on daily bases.
The dishes are palatable. Very yummy. I think is worth a while to visit or place an order to get a teaste of its sumptuous dishes.
Location great you won’t have parking problems, reception is homely which makes you to be comfortable and enjoy their freshly prepared meals. For a started restaurant they are doing great with their inter racial menus so there’s no limitations guys. And the most amazing thing is they are open to suggestions, comments and corrections and also a thum up to their sanitation especially the restroom. Will being visiting soon for sea food and achu.
