Soo, this is an unconventional review, because I was mentioning to someone how much I was craving some god jollof rice and they recommended this place and another… and imagine my surprise when they were at the Hst festival! I hopped in line, waited (amongst a crowd) for about 10-15 mins… they did have a fluid operation going for an outdoor event, so I can only imagine what a dine in experience is like! Very impressive.
But, can’t compare prices because it was an event… but the 2 items I got were definitely pricey and flavorful!
And probably enough for 2 people to have some sides if you chose a meat entree (which I didn’t), just the 2 sides (which would classify as vegetarian, Macn cheese and the jollof ( possibly vegan, not sure if the rice was boiled in a broth?)
The Jollof: The rice was very different, can’t explain the grain used, it’s very small, reminiscent of a tiny couscous… I’m told they use something similar in Hati, but with the other flavors and veggies with the grilled onions on top, it was just right.
But I was informed the Senegalese do jollof different.
So yes on the very different, but equally yes on the flavor, though different also, it was hints that are familiar while taking their own spin on it.
Will be on the lookout for them if I’m ever close to that side of Maryland.

Ate from the food truck yesterday in Forestville and the food was garbage. Lamb was cooked wayy too tough. Maybe the restaurant is way better but idk. Them boys on that food truck need supervision.

I was so excited to stumble upon a Senegalese food truck at the RFK Market this summer in NE DC! 😍 It instantly took me back to my trip to Senegal—where I fell in love with lamb dibi, poulet yassa, and the amazing ginger and bissap (hibiscus) drinks. The food was quick, healthy, and soooo flavorful. And with Senegalese music playing in the background, the vibe was perfect and the owners were easy on eyes- tall, dark, and very handsome! Treat yourself to an authentic taste of Senegal in DC- you’ll thank me later! 🇸🇳✨

The food is amazing. However be wary of the length of the wait. I’ve been to this place three times now & every time it’s been a +20 minute wait. Today I was waiting on the basic lamb platter & French fries for 35 minutes, & watched a bunch people that ordered after me served first. I think the only reason they even remembered my food is cause I was starting to giving them a look & was about to say something.
They may want to consider a better service system.

I’ve followed this truck for years to several locations (West Virginia ave, RFK parking lot & forestville.
Today I arrived at 11:15am. By 12noon I should've been had my food. Instead i was met wit staff that explained how uber eats order took preference over walk-in orders. Because i was on my lunch break my time was limited. The staff had no concern. I asked for a refund. It was denied. Instead i was offered a $4 beverage. NEVER AGAIN!!!
BAD SERVICE, LONG WAIT TIMES, NO REFUNDS…

Service was average. They answered questions about the food. The wait was long. The food was not worth the wait. Air filled patties. Susan was a joke. No greens on the menu and the jollof had frozen veggies that didn't contribute much. Don't waste your money or time here.

I ordered a food around 5pm and I called someone else pick up the call and I say let’s me wait a lil bit they might be busy, so I get there by 7: 45pm I asked them to warmup they said no they can’t and there is this boy that actually laughing when am asking so I think that a poor customer service
wouldn't recommend. so salty and overpriced.

Very poor customer service.
I ordered few portions of grilled lamb and chicken. The lamb tasted like logs of wood, very hard and uneasy to eat. I live in VA and couldn’t drive for another hour back to silver spring at 9.15pm. I spoke to the manager over the phone and asked for a partial refund/ compensation which she categorically refused. Not only the meat was hideous but the customer service was awful. Know that you’ve lost a loyal customer..no more of koite grill!
