The food was underwhelming. For West African food (generally speaking), it lacked flavour and oomph. I think the reviews are subjective to the predominate culture of their faithful patrons. That notwithstanding, their service is excellent, their restaurant is clean and the vibe is pleasant. I love Senegalese food, but… this didn’t hit the spot.
What I had:
Jollof rice
Meat pie (barely had meat in it, just the pastry)
BBQ chicken
Fish pie
Plantains

I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for quite some time, because it is not easy to find a restaurant that serves Senegalese Cuisine and there was a Instagram review that posted good African Cuisine and this restaurant was on it. I wanted to add that I have tried Jollof from Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Liberia, Congo and Gambia, so I know my Jollof. I have always thought the best Jollof I have had was made by my best friends wife. He is Gambian and so is she and the other was while I was in my husband's country of Togo there is a Senegalese restaurant in Downtown Lomé that I have to go to every time we go to Africa. That is AMAZING. This restaurant has the same flavor, the broken Jasmine rice, the nice texture and the additional of vegetables. Typically Gambians and Sengalese do not add veggies because the flavor and quality they make can stand alone. PLEASE GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!! IT WAS SO REFRESHING TO TASTE GOOD AFRICAN FOOD OUTSIDE OF GOING TO A FRIEND OR FAMILIES HOME OR IN AFRICA!! KOITE GRILL my taste buds are so happy and satisfied.

Tucked away in downtown silver springs, Koite Grill is the shining star of the food scene. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! It CONSISTENTLY delivers—in taste, quality and atmosphere.
So first things first—the food is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! I’ve been here at least 4 times and each time I try a new dish that blows me away. The dibi mixed grill is one of the best meals in the city. I brought my 10 year old nephew (who would live off of pizza and tacos if he could), and this is the only restaurant he’s requested we visit again. He especially loved the grilled meat and mac and cheese. Personally, I think their jollof rice is the best in the DMV.
Now the atmosphere is pretty chill. The food is served in takeaway, which makes it easy to pack and and go. What makes the atmosphere five-star is how lovely, warm, and inviting the workers are. This is a family owned spot, and everyone is very welcoming. The main woman even remembered me the second time I came!
Food, delicious. People, kind.
Highly recommend. Go and bring a friend!

Please keep up the consistency with good food. This silver spring location is not as good as the others. (Please and bbq along with the mustard for the grilled dibi)Soo Thankful for the food truck in my area so I don't have to travel too far. Oh and my fataya only had a small scoop of meat. Great food but no consistent.

This was such an amazing experience. I am on the Board for Smith School PTMBA program and I wanted to share authentic African cuisine at my event. I received nothing but praise for the flavor of the food. As a fellow Nigerian, it was hard to acknowledge the Jollof rice, but hands down this was one of the best Jollof I’ve had at any African restaurant. Due to how well my event went and how delicious the food was I personally had the restaurant cater my Christmas and New Years dinner. The service here is superb and they always ensure your food is prepared at the time requested.

I tried the Poisson à la Braise (Red Snapper Fish) with mac and cheese and the veggie jollof rice as my sides, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The dish was bursting with a medley of spices, delivering incredible flavor in every bite. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the tender fish to the creamy mac and cheese and the flavorful jollof rice.
In terms of food quality, freshness, and the time it took to get my order, I’d give this place a solid 10/10. I will definitely be returning!

I'm obsessed with the amazing food in Senegal! As a frequent visitor, I can attest to the mouth-watering, organic, and super healthy cuisine. But what really stands out is the 'Bow Bow' juice - it's truly incredible!
I highly recommend supporting this wonderful family business. Their hospitality, services, and warm welcome will leave you feeling amazed. If you've never been to Africa or Senegal, this is a must-visit destination. Trust me, you won't be disappointed
