Could skip Gyoza.General information: this place is pretty busy, so you may want to make a reservation for a party. Seating consists of dining room & outside patio. Place itself across from Whole Foods. Parking garage is 5 minutes walk.Pricewise: about $85 with 3 appetizers to share, 2 rolls, sake & beer.

We came by here after 3:30pm, for a late lunch, and were surprised that there were still so many people at the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a Happy Hour pricing for their sushi! We tried their salmon avocado rolls for $5 each. The karaage chicken (Japanese fried chicken) and special dipping sauce was also very delicious. ($7 happy hour price) There were about 7 small chicken pieces. The katsu don was so yummy too and my daughters really devoured that.

The Rainbow roll had a nice variety of fish in it. The sliced ginger was fresh and moist. The spicy rock shrimp was extremely spicy and the shrimp were large and firm. My friend really enjoyed the crunchy roll. Good flavors overall!

Had a fantastic meal at Kusshi Sushi in Silver Spring last week. We ordered maki and nigiri sushi as well as gyoza and shrimp. I lived in Japan for 8 years and was impressed by the size of the fish in the sushi and how fresh the fish was. Also the service was excellent. The only possible drawback is the atmosphere. It has a hip, young vibe and is a little loud, so it feels somewhat atypical for a classic sushi restaurant. That said, the sushi was so good - and reasonably priced for the size of the fish - that I will definitely be returning as soon as I can!

I drove 45 minutes to try this place. The flavors were novel and incredible, the presentation was so cool and memorable. It was the right amount of food, I was full but not uncomfortably. kusshi gets the importance of good, well prepared rice. Too many sushi places make awful rice and should be ashamed. Not the case here! Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the Nigiri. Definitely a great way to celebrate my husbands birthday.

I was a little nervous at first because I have never really had Japanese cuisine as much as my family has as they’ve lived in Japan for some time. What I will say though is this was a pleasant experience. My family and I had the chicken yakisoba, the chicken yakitori, and the vegetable sampler. The service was excellent from Darya and the atmosphere is what you can ask for. I would definitely recommend this place to my other friends and family for sure!
