Our party tried, a soup, carne guisada, pollo guisado , carne frita, chuletas fritas also mofongo and trifongo and cant pick one as favorite because everything was delicious. Service was excellent very attentive and friendly. If you want puertorican food this is the place to go.
A full-on family feast at La Casa del Mofongo in Silver Spring! From mashed plantains and crispy pork to bacalao and trifongo that tasted like it was blessed by the Caribbean gods—every bite was pure comfort.
Washed it all down with passion fruit juice, Puerto Rican Malta India (yes, India—not Polar or Goya 👏), and an ice-cold Presidente.
We wrapped it up with cheese flan and tres leches to-go (because dessert deserves its own encore).

I decided to check this restaurant out after reading a review in the latest edition of the Washingtonian Magazine. I always like to check out a restaurant before I decide to bring my date to the restaurant to make sure the food is fantastic. This is the second time I have had food from a Dominican restaurant in the Washington DC area.
