Lucy Ethiopian Restaurant

This Ethiopian food is fantastic. Very flavorful. It wasn't until I ordered takeout from Lucy's when I realized how good Ethiopian food is and Lucy's is better than other restaurants that claim to be the leader here (we have tried the highest rated and Lucy's is always better, simply tastier!). My favorite is the tibs sandwich. The vegi combo is also very good. Recommended!

We had high hopes to celebrate the meskel weekend at this place...it started out ok but food service was late we had to wait long to order, kitfo was the part we were looking for it was good but not as great that we drove an hour for, the second food we ordered we couldn't ear it since it was flavorless so plain ... but what was really disappointing was we took part in the Ethiopian coffee ceremony , the ceremony itself was nice but the lady who was making and serving the coffee was rude & unprofessional multiple occasions... At the end we were informed the coffee price was not added in our bill, so the coffee server she came and gave us an unbelievable hard time that either we need to pay by cash or zelle separately, we were just customers waiting to pay by credit card for one bill and leave , no one informed us about there would be a split on the bill and different form of payment would be required for the coffee ... it was just so unpleasant experience and so confusing why would they demand to be paid by cash separately for the coffee!?? Any the way the bill was handled was stunningly rude and unprofessional to say the least ... The Ethiopian coffee ceremony is something real Ethiopians cherish so much and usually provided as a courtesy , but the extent this restaurant went to charge for it by itself showed a disrespect for this timeless tradition 🤔 it specialy hurted since we took an international guest whom we wanted to show our culture ... 😔

I usually go everytime here,they prepare very delicious Ethiopian food with fair price and very best place and good location plus very best customer service! I recommend here for Ethiopian traditional food!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this Ethiopian restaurant! The authentic gluten free & organic injera perfectly tangy, paired beautifully with rich and flavourful stews. If your a meat lover the kitfo & the Dereq Tibs but every dish was bursting with authentic taste — you can tell everything is made with love & tradition.
The atmosphere was cozy & vibrant, a perfect setting to enjoy such comforting food. We also had coffee with jebena absolutely traditional & tasteful Whether you’re new to Ethiopian cuisine or a longtime fan, this place is a gem that will leave you full and happy. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for an authentic Ethiopian food in DMV area Lucy is the spot. Kitfo and their tibs is unmatched in the area. What makes the spot special is that the food is fresh and friendly for vegans. The service is also excellent. I highly recommend it for those that are looking to try authentic Ethiopian food or in general looking for the best Ethiopian spot the region.

Wandered in randomly after the burger place we wanted to go to was closed for the Fourth of July holiday, glad we did.
The food was excellent with generous portions that really hit the spot. Authentic and flavorful all around. The service was a bit inattentive at times, but not enough to ruin the experience.
The inside of the place was smoky, as they were roasting coffee beans near the front door. Didn’t try, but it smelled good and plenty others were there just to have some with friends.
Overall enjoyed the food and would eat here again.

This place makes me hate our food I don't think so I'm going to eat Ethiopian food again. Everything here is unpleasant.

My boyfriend and I love to go to Lucy's. This restaurant was my first time eating Ethiopian food and I absolutely love it now! The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious and flavorful. The staff is always great! No complaints! Highly recommend!!
