McGinty's Public House

A great Irish pub in Silver Spring with a wide beer selection that should satisfy just about anyone. The menu sticks to classic pub fare with plenty of traditional Irish dishes. The staff were excellent—attentive, friendly, and kept the beers coming. The Irish stew was outstanding. All around, a solid Irish pub with no complaints.

This was the second time for me. The first time was utterly forgettable, literally. Well, this time I had the hamburger in a bowl, which I had never had anywhere although apparently it is a thing. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially since I paid extra to have corned beef added. I also enjoyed three glasses of Dogfish Head 90-minute IPA even though, including tax, they were $10 each. (Really?!? What a ripoff. Some reviews for McGinty's say beer are only $3-$5 each; must be really old reviews.)

Best wings in town! Never had any better than at McGinty’s!

I ordered the roast beef sandwich. Unfortunately it was awful. The beef was overcooked, the menu said it had horseradish, but I could t even taste it. I was really disappointed. Service was great and the drinks were fine, though. But if you are looking for a true pub experience with good bar food, look elsewhere.

The food is just plain good! Irish night is a great deal and awesome Irish tunes. It feels like a real little slice of Ireland growing out of the mall.

We only had drinks here, but our experience was so great! Thank you Jason! (I hope I remembered your name right) You were amazing I am simply providing this review for you. My partner and I love to experience new places, some that may be out of our norm and typically we can seem a bit out of place. But you made us feel welcomed, and made us laugh so we really appreciate it! I hope you stay being you and we hope to come back again.

The food was great and service was friendly and prompt as we were enjoying The Remedy's live music. Loved the atmosphere and would love to see The Remedy here again - great music and had the whole place dancing!

I’ve sat at the booths and bar seats up and down stairs. Always great service, even when they are busy af. Get curry fries.

We visited for the first time tonight - 10/10. Service and food were great and we were completely delighted with The Remedy. They kept us on our feet the whole night and we’d 100% come back to see them again.

I love it here—Happy Hour/Irish Night deals are unbeatable, atmosphere transports you across the pond, food is amazing, fast service. Can’t wait to come back for trivia, live music, comedy, literally any excuse to visit!

I go for open mic

Despite being my favorite Club Sandwich destination, a recent trip left me tongue in cheek. The regular waitress, full of energy and enthusiasm, took our orders. One of us wanted us unable to eat the sandwich with the yoke dripping. A new waitress says, “we could change it for you, if you like.” She takes the plate away and about 15 minutes later and new plate is brought, this time the eggs are well done, with no dripping yoke.

When the check was brought, not only was the replacement charged, but the waitress with green-rim lens insisted to our utter amazement that she had served a second drink, when all she did was remove a glass from our table.

It’s sad to get such treatment in places you have so much hope in, especially when customers are left helpless.

As a Takoma Park/Silver Spring native, this place is a staple! Such a great atmosphere, solid drinks, and best french fries hand down!!
