My first time there. The fish were very fresh and reasonable prices. Definitely will be going back again and again for more fish.

Look, this is the best fish market in the DMV. Great prices, knowledgeable and friendly staff that go out of their way to help out others, and the best selection outside of the ocean. I grew up in Miami and NJ and have worked summers at fish markets and on charters, this place is top tier. Quit reading and grab some sushi grade Mahi already.

Nicholas is the man! Great prices for some great local seafood. If you don’t like what you get from this place you just aren’t a good cook!

The owner has a very condescending and pretentious way of speaking to customers. My husband and I went in asking for a few live crabs. We were immediately met with “Sold out. Check the website. Call and order in advance.” I then asked how often they tend to get them. He stated, “ Don’t know. Check the website.” Very off putting. The week before I had come in without issue and easily got live crabs from his employee. The best time to go is when you don’t have to deal with the owner because he can just be rude. Business would probably be much better if he learned how to appropriately talk to people. Very poor customer service on his part.

Follow-Up Response to Owner: My experience is not a lie. If you worked on your own personal issues, the way you talk to people would significantly improve (tone, word choice, dismissive nature) and perhaps you’d get more business. You could’ve said, “Crabs are hit or miss with extreme heat these days” instead of “ you gotta check the website and call and order ahead.” There’s a difference in how the two phrases are received. Just a little lesson to help you out.

Great quality and friendly people

Nicholas gave great deals great service and great quality fish. However when I got home after a large purchase I found some fish was missing. I called thinking it would be an easy fix and was met with rude attitude and accusations of lying. I was going to make this my new spot as I always shop in bulk for fish but after being ripped off and talked to with hostility I will not be returning.

We recently came in for the first time and the gentleman working was awesome. They had run out of crab cakes but he took our phone number and rushed to fill the order and called us to let us know it was ready just a bit later. The crab cakes were AMAZING and got rave reviews by everyone. We ordered 10 and all were gone in an instant! We'll definitely be going back for all our fish needs!

We've visited this place several times and it's unquestionably the best seafood store in the area. The fresh lobster tasted incredible! I've purchased live lobster from other places like Wegmans and it was never as flavorful as the lobster from this place. Nick, the owner, is always in the store and clearly loves his job and knows a lot about seafood. He guided us to a jar of shucked oysters and they tasted great. Also, if you want to try something new, like monkfish, he's a great source of advice. We'll happily return here and recommend it to friends.
