I was in downtown Silver Spring the other day and felt like I needed a little coffee for my afternoon. Pj's got some good reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. I stopped in for a double espresso to go.
The place itself is clean and looks nice enough. It wasn't too busy; it was a weekday. I would say that the service here is average. My double espresso, to be completely honest, was not good at all. Just to put word out, my double espresso filled up half the cup and tasted like drip coffee, so I ended up not drinking it. My review is higher because I'm not necessarily going to fault a place that seems like they specialize in their taller beverages, like iced lattes and stuff, so I'd just be aware of that.
Overall, if you're looking for traditional cafe drinks I'd probably skip this one, but they seemed to have some fun creative drinks that might be tasty.

For a quick, light, Monday lunch, I stopped by PJ's. I expected the usual cafe fare of simple sandwiches. To my pleasant surprise, I found cubanos ($7.99) available, which I promptly ordered along with a large drip coffee ($3.15). I didn't plan on dessert, but the beignets ($4.15) convinced me otherwise.
Since the number of patrons inside numbered one (myself), I received my order within 5 minutes. Both the Cubano and beignets arrived piping hot (need to wrap a few napkins level of hot). The Cubano's ciabatta proved quite fluffy. The pickles did not seem too tangy.
The beignets (3 per order) also proved incredibly fluffy. I knocked off some of the powdered sugar as I don't like too much sweetness. Overall, it possessed my preferred balance of slight bready savoriness accented with, but not overpowered with, sweetness.
For an ad-hoc coffee and light lunch stop, it proved quite exceptional. I would most certainly return, especially for those beignets.

I placed an order through Uber Eats. I was looking forward to the beignets because I'm missing home right now. Unfortunately, the beignets were missing. Also, the chai and matcha lattes were the wrong sizes. I ordered a large for both and received one small and one medium. I'm from New Orleans. I know what the PJ large cup looks like.
Are you trying to rip off customers? Play this game with someone else, not me.

I absolutely love visiting this coffee shop every week! The highlight of my visits is definitely the delicious chai latte, which is perfectly spiced and always hits the spot. And, not to mention my fav the caramel granita ✨. What makes the experience even better is the fantastic service esp. from Jay, who always remembers my order. It's such a nice touch that makes me feel valued as a customer! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff truly make this place a gem. Highly recommend!

I highly recomend PJ's Coffee as the beignets are free, coffee is premium Nawlins quality and the staff are amazing.
I love the art. ambiance, and opportunity to get a taste of my hometown of Nawlins in downtown Silver Spring. Be sure to tip those wonderful Baristas as they are worth it! S/O to the Operators!

Nice people, good service, but the food is so bad and the coffee drinks are way too sweet. All too salty, too sweet and odd flavor combinations.
I'm not one for writing reviews but I feel compelled to mention something. Today is my second day of stopping in to 'borrow' the wifi and get a little work done before the local library opens and PJ's is an excellent place for a good cup of coffee from friendly people. I have never been one for Starbucks and my recent visits I've had to come to grips with the cost of a boring brand.
PJ's is very affordable and as I noted before the coffee is good. I haven't had any of the food so I'm not able to comment.
