I love Rahama food, but I have complaint about the spiciness of their food. It’s ridiculous. I ordered fufu and goat meat light soup my favorite I devastated with how spicy the food was. I couldn’t eat the food and I wasted my money. It’s sad that they don’t consider people that don’t eat too much pepper. Please make spicy sauce on the side for who needs it.

When I ordered though Uber eats the order would be messed up. So I started ordering directly though the restaurant. Today I ordered Kenken, friend fish and an extra order of friend fish. One of the kenkens arrived opened. I called the restaurant and Fati offered to reimburse me $2 and some change on an order that cost over $30 when you include the delivery fee. The restaurant provided me with food already opened and I could not eat it. Fati hung up on me and never returned my call. Horrible customer service. I don’t live in MD and won’t waste my gas to go in person and continue to discuss.

Taste good! But made me and hubby sick ?

Amazing! I ordered the waakye and jollof combo with beef/ fish and stew/shito. It was absolutely amazing! Biting into this meal gave me flashbacks of my time in Ghana. It’s so authentic. The portions are huge and the level of spice was just right (spicy but I love the heat)! It’s hard to find affordable African food that tastes good but Rahama knocked it out of the park with this meal.

Ordered delivery via delivery app. I ordered the 1/2 Waakey and 1/2 Jollof. I received 1/2 Waakey and a hand written note on the back of the receipt saying they were out of Jollof. No contact to cancel or change order. The worst part? They could have just doubled the amount of Waakey but instead they gave me a scoop of spaghetti! Jollof and spaghetti is not 1:1 value. One is seasoned rice that takes time to prepare and cook, the other is a box you dumped into boiling water and just mixed with the Waakey. Not cool, I did not want to be spending 10 bucks for some store bought spaghetti.

I order their food and they sent me rotten food. This is why it's impossible to support African restaurants, they do shortcuts at the expense of people health. I will never order from this restaurant again.

As someone who loves to explore different foods, I tried fufu and stew at this spot. My first experience wasn’t great—I had the goat soup/stew with friends which was slimy and with not good flavor, and we didn’t enjoy it much. But last week, I tried the peanut soup with fufu, and it was amazing. I’ll definitely order it again whenever I’m in the mood for fufu. The service is a bit slow, likely because the place is so busy.

Great spot for those with an adventurous palette and those who crave west african cuisines. I really enjoyed the tuo zaafi with green okra soup and beef. I also enjoyed the jollof rice and waakye some days later after keeping them in the fridge. I look forward to trying the rice balls with groundnut/peanut butter soup. Overall the food filled my cravings and service was good !

Parking: open parking lot with plenty of space at all times.

I recently visited Rahama African Restaurant in Silver Spring on Cherry Hill Road. My whole family has been eating here for a very long time, and it was my sister who told me about the great food they had. The first time I tried their food, it was delicious and lived up to expectations. The second visit was just as good. However, my experience took a turn for the worse on subsequent visits.

The third plate of food had only a little cassava leaf, a tiny bit of cassava soup, and three very small pieces of meat. The taste was okay but not as good as the first two times. The fourth plate was full of oil, had a little meat, and lacked cassava leaf. It was overly oily, and I even took a picture of it. The fifth plate was salty, had no cassava leaf, was dry, and had four quarter-sized pieces of meat with no flavor and seemed like it didn’t even have any oil.

We eat from this restaurant once a week, buying four to five plates of food at a time. I really appreciate that Rahama is a halal restaurant, as I don’t eat out much and usually cook for myself. I was hoping this would be a place we could enjoy regularly. Initially, it was one of the best for African cuisine, providing good portions for the money. However, it seems to be declining. My family and I have noticed these changes, and if the restaurant doesn’t address these issues, they might lose a lot of business, as the quality now is nowhere near what it used to be.
