We observed in this place the five senses ! The Beef and Lamb Tibs was the best I have ever had , with crispy skin and Juicy meat! I love the atmosphere which family friendly sprit in this place! The Jazz music impressed us! Me and my family enjoyed the music , the food and the friendly and family atmosphere in Shalla Ethiopia resturant! The traditional incense aromatic fragrant refresh and therapeutic to us! And love the the resturant view ! The traditional tea is like a medicine ! Enjoy it!

Poor customer service. I walked in and sat down, but no one acknowledged me or offered assistance for over five minutes. There were more than five employees present, yet they acted as if they did not see me. This is not the first time I’ve had this experience, and I am starting to wonder why. With so many Ethiopian restaurants to choose from, I expected better service.

This place is absolutely filthy. Honestly a matter of time till the county health inspector shuts it down. We were there on a Sunday and they were bringing in their meat delivery in what looked like a trash bin wrapped in a big trash bag. For a place that serves raw meat as a delicacy, it’s disturbing to see that is how the meat is transported and through the main entrance for all customers to see. We ordered a few combo dishes and overall the food was mid, so many other better options for Ethiopian food in the area and the service was terrible, most of the servers look and act like they are there against their will. Needless to say, this was the last time we will dine here.

Ordered on uber eat. Specifically leave note that keep the bread separated from the food. The restaurant didn’t even bother to read the note. Leave the bread together with the food. Ended up with soggy bread and can’t even keep for later since they leave everything together. 2nd time order from this place and probably the last time.

Shalla is second to none when it comes to the quality, taste and portion of meats esp geba weta is my most favorite though sometimes the taste is not that good and I guess it depends on the chef. But, the restaurant gotta ensure that the it should be smelling good and clean which is not the case.

Don’t come here u less you want to pass away early due to food poisoning. There was a rat dancing in the corner when we were there. The food got us so sick we turned blue in face. Overall horrible experience. If u love your self and your stomach don’t come.

During my visit today, I was given an odd and unpleasant 3-pound portion of kitfo meat to go, which I’m very unhappy about. Last Saturday, I had an amazing cut of kurit meat! Especially for raw dishes like kitfo, please don’t sell stale meat.

I had an unfortunate experience at SHALLA involving an unauthorized $30 overcharge. Instead of addressing the issue smoothly, the staff/owner made the resolution unnecessarily complicated, claiming they couldn’t locate the receipt. This led to extra effort on my part just to get my money back, which was frustrating and avoidable.

While I understand that mistakes can happen, I encourage management to improve their process for handling billing discrepancies in a more transparent and customer-friendly way. For fellow diners, I highly recommend double-checking your transactions and keeping your receipts to avoid any confusion. And if you want to be extra cautious—paying with cash might be a good idea.

I hope the restaurant takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve, as honesty and good service are key to maintaining customer trust.
