A bad dim sum experience on a Sat. We had to return a few items. There are better dim sum restaurants.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Came in for lunch at 12noon on a Saturday. There were carts coming around so we jumped in immediately and ordered 2 plates of different buns. Both were cold so we decided to save them for home. Other dishes we ordered including radish cake and various fried items were also room temperature at best. Dim sum isn't normally piping hot but some dishes just don't taste right when they aren't warm.
Steamed shrimp dumplings were huge, and we discovered why when we bit in -- they are full of filler and not shrimp. It ended up being a mushy mess. I couldn't finish it.
We had to order off the regular menu to get hot foods. I saw one table send food back because it was cold and then the cart ladies argued with the customers! They said it was fresh out of the fryer and the customer said if it's fresh why is it cold? They kept arguing and the guy maintained his argument.
There was no server around and we had to hunt down people to ask for water and tea. Later I helped myself to carryout boxes. Again had to look for someone to pay the bill.
The last time I was here was around New Year and we came at 11am and it was better. Now I have left and I feel sick to my stomach.
What a shame...this place was a staple from my childhood days with decent prices for large portions for dinner, and a bustling dim sum on the weekends. This is one of the last dim sum places in the area and it was not good at all. Don't think we will be back.

The fish is really good here. We came here for Christmas and the food was all good. Unfortunately they didn’t have dim sum available. They told us it would take an hour to get the food out, so if you’re looking for fast Chinese food this probably isn’t the place.

I have been there for several time, however, their customer service is going down i don’t know why. The servers were rude and impolite, they don’t care and they don’t want to answer your questions. The food was ok, sometime not fresh. But it was not as tasty as before, maybe they change the chef

I just love this place. Dim Sum is authentic. Cart service only on weekends. I like weekdays a little better. If you know what you like you order of a sheet and don’t have to hope the food is still on the cart when it passes by. However if you’ve never been, cart dim sum is a must try.
We used to be frequenters of Oriental East near the Silver Spring metro station until it closed down. However, one of the former owner of Oriental East often comes here for her dim sum. How’s that for a vote of confidence?

I do not enjoy the food. It is a loud crowded restaurant. Someone else chose to dine here.

The food is inedible and overpriced. The service is lousy even during non-peak hours. One item was so horrible even crows wouldn't touch it (literally tried to feed it to the crows and they ignored it). Do NOT order the Peking Duck. Waitress demanded a higher tip even with the lousy quality of both food and service. We will never go to this restaurant again. They clearly have changed something since this used to be a good restaurant. Visited on Tuesday June 10, 2025.

This place used to be great but now it has declined horribly. The servers are so rude, they look at you and ignore you. You have to go up to them if you want something and then it takes forever. Quality of the food was not good at all. Lo mein the noodles were hard as if uncoocked and the chicken wings even worse. Overall would not recommend this place.
Food has gotten to be pretty poor in the lasy couple of years. Used to be the best place for dim sum. Also somewhat expensive.

Best dimsum in town!
Always an absolutely delicious and fulfilling meal and experience. All the food is amazing and the atmosphere while loud because of how crowded it usually has been is aesthetically pleasing while the service in my experience has always been friendly but I’d suggest keeping in mind how busy it can get if you’re in a rush and expecting super fast service although this doesn’t personally bother me.
Disappointed!
To see so many Asian customers in the place, I was excited that we would have a wonderful experience. Sadly no!
The service was slow for a restaurant with less than 10 tables occupied and 3-4 servers. But more importantly, the food was very poor quality. Not hot, not seasoned, just not delicious.
Great place for authentic Chinese food in the Wheaton/Glenmont/Aspen Hill area. Had a wide selection of food, including a full dim sum menu, and all the food was fantastic. Service was friendly, quick and attentive, and did a really nice job with the kids with us. Great experience the many times we've been there, and the carryout is equally good.
I tried Chinese dim sum for the first time here today. This place has delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy family atmosphere!
