The prices are high and you would expect to receive a portion of food according to this price but it is disappointing, they will charge you the box if you want to take food that you did not manage to eat, the lady who attended us was not very friendly and the chicharrones we ordered were dry and hard.

The food is really good but the place looks horrible. Feels like its been under construction or something. Doesn't feel or look like a restaurant at all. The staff is friendly. Lots of items were missing from the menu.

We came here for my husband's birthday on a Saturday and right as we walked in we had to go up 20 steps with a stroller and a 75yr old grabdma. We did it but as we got up there was a sign that said NO BATHROOMS AVAILABLE!! I thought they meant for the general public but they had no bathrooms for anyone, customers or not.
Big let down, especially since kids and elderly might have smaller bladders. They simply said go to the bakery next door!
The servers were great and polite but they seemed like the were either in training or they needed more experience. They weren't very good at describing the dishes and they forgot the drinks menu.
For the food, unfortunately it was also a big let down. All of the dishes that we ordered were simply not even close to true Colombian food. CHEESE!!! WAY TOO MANY CHEESE ON EVERYTHING!!! The famous heavier dishes should have been available on a busy day like Saturday, but unfortunately none of the big dishes were available. No burgers, either for non Colombian people like myself and my kids. No kids menu either. The arepa was severely drenched in oily butter, the hot dog was good but again way too much cheese. The Salchipapas were good, but again waayy too much cheese. This covered the flavors underneath making it too heavy. The sodas are in small cans making them expensive as well.
For the atmosphere, they have good music, they also sell lots of Colombian items. it looks nice and it looks like they are renovating, but in my artistic eye I would suggest a professional to paint their art. It looks like an elementary school student painted all the walls.
Parking? No parking available for this location. Street paid parking available only. Or you can walk a mile away to the public parking lot.
We won't be coming back.

Approaching the address you must slow down as you might drive by it. The actual restaurant is on second floor. If you are taking your parents that might be disabled, have knee pains, or have difficulty with steps then know you must go up about 25 steps to get to the restaurant. The second floor looks like a small cafeteria with about 12 square tables that can be moved around, combined for larger than 4 groups, or accommodated to make the middle section a bit of a dance area if needed. On the left there is a large bar with its bar stools for those that want to enjoy sitting and enjoying drinks. I started my order with two Colombian empanadas that were delicious and very meaty. I decided to order the Bandeja Paisa with ground meat that is priced for $23.50 although you can get the one with carne asada option that is priced at $28.50. I must admit that the plate looked beautiful and impressive when it showed up. The food tasted amazing although I wished my plate was a bit more hot. My drink ordered was a guanabana juice made with water which were priced at $3.50 in the receipt but it showes up as $4.50 on the menu. My glass was a 16 ounces size but about 5 or 6 of those ounces was ice. You should request light ice as those drinks finish quick. Your eyes see a 16 ounce cup of delicious juice but before you know it your food is there and you have a glass with ice and no juice. I prefer to get the juice and a glass of ice on the side. The beans where a bit on the salty side but very tasty. The arepa, if you are Colombian you can tell, that it was made from flour from store and not grounded white corn as they are made at other Colombian restaurants. There was only one waitress attending all of the tables. When our food came it took us about 5 minutes to flag her down to get a set of utensils, as we were missing a set. We didn’t see her again until we waved our hands to get our bill and our to go boxes. I found it a bit humorous that the receipt showed a charge for $0.98 cents for the 2 “to go” containers. I am not trying to be picky as I want you to get a picture of the experience I had in Song & Sazon. I dont want you to misunderstand me as I do this review. I do like this restaurant. The little issues that I experienced is something I can deal with when I return for another meal here. However, If you are trying to bring your elderly parents, want to impress your date, or bring a boss for a business discussion then I would recommend for you to come and check it out for yourself first then you make the decision if this spot would be one of your “personal” favorites. I want you to keep in mind one thing: There is no perfect restaurant! The person I brought said that she didn’t want to come back. I personally will comeback, probably by myself, to enjoy food like the empanadas and others stuff I didn’t try. I want to try the Mondongo, the Perro Caliente with the works, the Bistec a Caballo, and the Arroz Arriero. As you can see the place has opened my eye and has me wanting to return in the future. Even though I am eager to return, I do not see this restaurant as a solid 5 star. I do believe they have a great 4 star restaurant that I will definitely come back to enjoy. Receipt for 2 was $64 plus $12 gratuity. This place is a hot commodity as there are not that many Colombian restaurants in Wheaton, Maryland. Hope you enjoyed this review and take nothing personal as I paint a picture of the venue before you get there. Stay blessed.

Song & Sazon is a true hidden gem in Wheaton! From the moment you walk in, the warm, vibrant atmosphere makes you feel like you found an authentic Colombian restaurant. The staff is friendly, attentive, and happy to guide you through the menu if you're not familiar with Colombian cuisine.
The food is the real star here — flavorful, authentic, and clearly made with care. The bandeja paisa is a must-try: generous portions, perfectly seasoned meats, crispy chicharrón, and the creamiest beans. The arepas are fresh and satisfying, and the empanadas are golden, crispy, and full of flavor. Don’t skip the aguapanela or passion fruit juice — they’re refreshing and delicious.
Whether you're Colombian or just love good Latin food, Song & Sazon delivers a memorable experience. A perfect spot for a casual lunch, family dinner, or weekend treat. Highly recommended!

I ordered a bandeja paisa, and received like 1 spoon of beans and no chorizo. The quality in this restaurant has really gone down
