Stopped in because it was on our walking path from the garage to The Fillmore. When they seated us, I probably should have noped out: the seat they placed me in felt like it was a sneeze away from collapsing; they were storing boxes of to go containers under the at-the-bar seating area, meaning I had no leg room while sitting in my rickety seat; when I looked in the fish case, the fish looked tired. Waitress handed us a stack of menus and a single sheet for selecting sushi. I always get nigiri while wife always gets sashimi. We clearly marked our respective selections and the waitress assured us she understood which pieces were to be which. However, when the plate was served over to us, what should have been nigiri was sashimi and vice versa. We didn't have time to wait for them to remake it, so we made do. Honestly, with as indifferent as the sushi was, correcting the swap wouldn't have markedly improved things. Honestly, the sushi at Wegmans is better and Wegmans at least prepares the rice correctly.

Neighborhood, favorite and go to restaurant. Sushi is excellent. We always start with the Russian roulette and it's so much fun, anticipating who gets the wasabi bullet. Service is quick. Cramped space due to its popularity. I would love for them to offer better wines.

Food is amazing. Often have to wait for a table, though.

Got in at 6 on a Friday, was kind of busy and food didn't quite roll out until 7. Sushi is great (but make parking arrangements accordingly)

I loved this restaurant. I haven't had sushi this fresh in a long while. I like to think of myself as a sushi epicure, I loved the sushi and the Nagri. It was perfect. With the exception of the Nashville role, which I didn't like because the sauce overpowered the taste of the sushi. I would have given the restaurant five stars, but the only reason I gave it for stars was because the service was not the best. Our server was not rude or impolite – which is why I didn't give the restaurant three stars but rather four- but it wasn't the best experience. She asked us if we wanted the check while we were still eating. She removed some of the sauces from the table without asking us if we still wanted the sauces. She didn't offer any dessert and when we asked her about it, she told us about two varieties. She forgot to tell us about Mochi ice-cream. We only knew about it because we saw a picture that someone had posted on yelp. She didn't tell us we can mix different flavors (get two pieces from each flavor), again, we knew this from the yelp review. I don't usually judge a restaurant by the server, but I do judge it by the service. Another reason why I'm giving four stars and not three is that the owner gave us a bigger table when we asked for it (we were only two people) when we walked in. So the bottom line is excellent food, fresh sushi, nice restaurant owner but servers definitely need to make the guests feel welcome. This is not the final verdict. I'll be coming again for more.

The manager of this place is extremely unprofessional. I placed an order, he misheard me, I didn’t realize they have me the wrong item until I got home. I tried calling to get a refund, and he told me that he was the one who took my order and that I was wrong and hung up in the most rude fashion. What’s unfortunate is that the food was good the first couple times I visited. This experience however made me never want to return, as they never even attempted to reimburse me unless I went all the way back that same night. I feel awful because I know as a manager, he’s going to bring all his employees, and the restaurant all together, down with him if he continues to blame others for his mistakes even if you’re a customer. Think about it, if he’s willing to tell a customer they’re wrong, think about what it’s like when he messes up something between the people who work below him.

I put in a relatively small order via Uber Eats. I can't believe how expensive the total was and the food was middling. Never again.

Outstanding spread of sushi was presented for us. A wide variety from classic flavors to ameri-fusion inventions. The staff frequently came by to refill and refresh our water throughout our visit.Prices were fairly affordable as well for our large group.Parking: Parking garage a short walk away from the restaurant entrance.

This restaurant came recommended, but I got FOOD POISONING from the sushi I ordered. I spent hours with stomach pain, not to mention having to be stuck in the bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

For me, what makes Sushi Jin amazing is their plethora of vegetarian roll options. There are literally at least 20 different sushi rolls that are vegetarian, of those at least half--and probably more like two-thirds--are vegan. For pure decadence, the deep-fried avocado rolls are fantastic, perfect for a winter's evening. I also love the tofu lemongrass rolls, which are pleasantly bite-sized. The other veggie rolls are wide and varied, from the Amazon rolls which are huge and brimming with different veggies asparagus, radish sprouts, and shitake mushrooms, to the April, which is filled with delicious veggies and topped with chopped peanut, white ginger sauce, and mango. If you are a vegetarian and like sushi, Sushi Jin is really THE place to go. Great ambiance in the dining area, which feels pleasantly cozy, owing to narrow aisles and soft lighting, and spacious and bright, thanks to the high ceilings. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Cozy spot with a solid menu, excellent service, and excellent food. Plenty of plant-based options. Really appreciate that they decorate for holidays (e.g., Valentine's Day), too--even though it doesn't necessarily improve the physical ambiance for me, it shows that the business really cares and puts forth extra effort so that customers have a positive experience. My favorite dinner/date spot in downtown Silver Spring!
