A gem, one of very few remaining authentic old-school diners in the area. Informal. Great for groups, families or solo dining, serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner (and plenty of coffee) from early morning to late at night. Extremely affordable, too.

Parking: Plenty of for-pay street parking and more in the garage across the street. Free on weekends).

The service was wonderful, helpful friendly staff. Food taste okay, I ordered the veggie omelet, home fries, water, and coffee. I enjoyed listening to music of my choice during the wait for my food which was not long. The view is great, nice area. Clean restaurant. I will visit again for the overall experience and great customer service... will order something different next time.

Really good diner food. Everything was pretty basic for a diner, but I love diners so this hot the spot for me. Biscuits were a bit toasty, but they still tasted really good.

This is not the 'upbeat 50's jukebox joint'. It is delicious, helpful and a pivotal jewel of the community. Breakfast and dinner is great. 'Old Reliable' remains the place to go for 1st dates and small reunions for lifetime friendships alike.

We were in town for parent’s weekend and this place was perfect for Sunday breakfast. Classic diner food. Service excellent and the food great.

Mediocre. I was expecting a more traditional diner with better food but I was disappointed with the pancakes. The eggs and bacon were good though.

I saw this place from the road - and thought breakfast diner…yum. Preparing to be disappointed by some God awful chain, i walked through the door and into yesteryear. This diner holds true to an actual diner - and everything an actual diner offers. I sit at the counter. It’s close to the coffee, someone is always there, and it’s perfect for people watching and just to see what is going on. Within the first 15 minutes, i’d seen kitchen tragedies (plates dropped), cooks overwhelmed enough that they had to slow seating, and locals talking events with the staff. I really felt at home here - and the food was just awesome and it’s reasonable - where does this happen anymore - Well, it happens at the Tastee Diner. Go Check it out. The coffee is excellent. The wait staff were chatty and friendly. The food is probably going to kill you but you will die happy - Note: I skipped the yoghurt fruit parfait and went straight to the steak and over easy eggs with a side of hash browns. They do offer healthy options - but….it’s a diner. It’s all about fried love! Just Do It!

Oh what a place. it's a local diner thst serves affordable meals. don't expect the world from this place but they do have pretty epic pancakes. I always get coffee here but it's so so. honestly it's a diner and you get what you get.

05Sep22. Maybe because of staffing issues; maybe because of the time of day....This really wasn't what I expected. My bacon was too hard. My wife's bacon was too soft. We didn't get water or soda refilled. My wife didn't get her pancake until, basically, after the meal was over. Service was slow. I only gave a 3 because of the history of the Diner.

I enjoyed the speedy service as I went after the rush. I ordered the steak and eggs with home fries. It came out quickly, much to my delight. The food was not bad, however, the cut of steak made it a little tough (I ordered it medium). The home fries were good, but they could've kept the onions on the grill for a bit longer. Overall, for the price ($21 with tip), it was worth it. I just know to avoid the steak.

We ate here several times while we were in Silver Spring. The food was outstanding and the staff was friendly and courteous. The diner atmosphere brought you back in time. A cozy place to share a meal with family our friends. Tastee Diner quickly became our favorite restaurant in Silver Spring.

Good price for simple food. This isn't the place for fancy aioli's or avocado toast - just simple eggs, potatoes, and hash.Price is good for what you get, easy walk to the Silver Spring Metro, and literally right next to the Cameron St parking garage. Not too bad to bike to, either!

Parking: Right next door to the Cameron Street public garage - $0.70 per hour parking. Literally couldn't be easier.

Went here for breakfast this past weekend. Very short wait and friendly staff. Your standard diner with great staff and really good food. All the stuff we got was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The biscuits and gravy was especially yummy! Our waitress was awesome and did a great job especially as she had a huge number of tables to wait. Super friendly and always around.Overall great location for a good and great priced breakfast. I highly recommend!

This restaurant was a fixture in the Silver Spring I grew up in. I remember when they moved it from its location on Georgia Ave, to make way for the Discovery building many years ago. Well, Discovery is gone and Tastee Diner is still there, and that should tell you everything you need to get an incredible breakfast (or lunch or dinner)! This is old school food though, You are not going to find gourmet pancakes or other frilly stuff like that. What you will get is great eggs made to order, pancakes the way you mom made them, and SCRAPPLE! Yes, I said SCRAPPLE I am a proud lover of that mystery slice of pork meat made from that noble animal, and they make it just right.
