I’m in town to watch the Eagles sweep the Commanders. I stopped into this place late at night because they were the only restaurant open in the area. Funny store name but the food really is no joke. The best Island food I’ve ever eaten considering I am from Philadelphia where you’ll find the worst Jamaican cuisine, served in the most ramshackle restaurants. The vegan food @ the Angry Jerk is the best! Thanks family!

Ordered online and the website said it was ready. Waited 45 minutes for some chicken because they were out. After 45 minutes the guy at the front said “wait hold on, I don’t make the chicken” and proceeded to say it’s gonna be another 20-25 minutes for the chicken. No apology no nothing so dont waste your time. Go to negrill its in walking distance but they close early so go soon.

I have ordered at least 5 times in the past 2 months. The jerk chicken, chow main & fried rice have been the items purchased. I have had good experiences for the most part. I did have one issue with the fried rice not up to my liking. Venita the manager made it right. She went over & beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I visited again yesterday & received excellent customer service. I definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Rice was hard and crunchy, everything was too spicy. Prices are too high for such small portions. Oh… & the bathroom had no soap in the dispenser. There was no store bought soap available. How did the employees wash their hands????? We should’ve asked for a refund seriously.
The food was delicious the only thing was the plantains were dry and didn’t taste fresh. The carrot ginger juice didn’t have a bit of ginger in it. Hand washing has to be stressed in this establishment because I noticed employees leaving from other areas putting on gloves without washing their hands first. Otherwise, the staff was kind.

One star is even too much. The customer service is terrible. They don’t greet you when you come in. I was waiting in line before someone and they skipped me to take the other persons order first. The food is just laying out uncovered and there’s flies flying around. I can’t comment on the taste, I decided to take my money elsewhere. Was really hoping to try this place after seeing it on instagram but that just goes to show restaurants post for aesthetics and to gather patrons, but have no etiquete in the food business.

This was my first and last time at the Angry Jerk. I ordered the coconut curry chickpea tacos. The coconut curry chickpeas on their own was fya well seasoned with great heat (🔥🔥🔥)but the pineapple salsa was too sweet for my liking (I should have tested toppings before adding), plantain was ok and the slaw was not hitting at all on the tacos. Well, I know the Caribbean to be known for roti so I was expecting shell to be like a roti roll. Price is different on website $13, board $14.50 versus register $16.50 seriously this is price gouging! Then instead of cashier asking if I mind not getting exact change back because register had none, she shorted me. At these prices, Angry Jerk's prices should already include any bag fees seriously this is a restaurant NOT a grocery store. Not a good experience for a first visit. While I'm not angry but I did get jerked for a mediocre meal when I couldn't find Jamaican cowfoot soup!
