This will be a kind of long review however I feel it needs to be said. Wife and I had moved to Calvert County back in 1990. We knew this restaurant many years ago that changed names a lot. This past Sunday we decided to go to see all the Halloween decorations in Solomons and wanted to try the Bugeye Grill. We walked in at 4 pm and wanted a table for the two of us. We were asked if we had a reservation and I chuckled because they only had 4 couples eating inside with many tables empty. We were told Maybe I can put you at this small table over here however it was behind a wall, and we both declined So we choose to sit outside at 4 pm that time of day the sun would blind you. We ate and the food was good, and we spent one hundred dollars with no alcohol drinks. Now its 520 pm and after paying the waitress I went back inside and unbelievable the place was as empty and when we first walked in. I tried to get the owner to call me about what a customer's thought of his first visit was and maybe he could have been concerned enough to call me. As of today, he or she never returned my call.

I was excited to see a few vegetarian friendly options on the menu but left hungry and disappointed. I ordered the Bok Choy Bowl and it was absolutely awful. I took two bites and could not stomach the rest. It had all the right ingredients but the dish was completely inedible. The noodles tasted as though they had been marinating in plain soy sauce for days, and the bok choy was over cooked. I could not taste any ginger, lime, or garlic in the sauce. Perhaps the chef had an off day, I hope they'll tweak the sauce to make it more balanced because the concept of the dish is a perfect meatless option! My family ordered seafood dishes which they thought were just ok but needed more seasoning. They loved the lava cake dessert, the service was pretty good, and the location is stunning. Sadly we all agreed that this isn't a restaurant we'll visit again.

We just finished an OUTSTANDING meal here. My husband had the stuffed rockfish and he RAVED. I had the stuffed lobster tails and they as good. A little pricey but OUTSTANDING. Our waitress was very very good. Would recommend to anyone. Will come again.

This food @ Bugeye Grill is really really good! The service was excellent!! We went for dinner and breakfast. Especially Kelsey and Chaz, they were both very engaging and friendly. I would kiss the chef because this food is very flavorful and good sized portions! I definitely will be returning anytime im here in Solomons Island!!
