The Island Hideaway

My husband and I have been living in the area for over a year, and The Island Hideaway has become our go-to spot! We first visited for lunch, and I later celebrated my birthday and our anniversary there. The ambience is fantastic, making the perfect setting for special occasions. The food is consistently amazing, and the staff are always helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We just love this restaurant and will continue to make reservations here. Highly recommend !!

The fried Rockfish was excellent!! I'm not usually a fan of fried fish, so this was a happy surprise. The parmesan coating wasn't greasy or heavy. It complimented the mild Rockfish perfectly.

We've enjoyed Island Hideaway for years. Tonight was not a good night for the food. All are meals were not good to fair. The atmosphere and service was at their normal quality.

We always enjoy our meals at Island Hideaway. The food and wait staff are excellent and very friendly. One of our favorite restaurants in Solomons.

We had a lovely evening dining at the Island Hideaway on a Saturday night. We made a reservation, and there was a table outside that was free, as we hoped. It was fairly noisy inside, but outside was perfect. Our server, Jamie, was great! She was on the ball, easy going, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the fish of the day entree ( Rockfish), and the ( 2) crabcake entree...the latter being more reasonably priced and delicious than at other top restaurants in the area. The only disappointment, but I should have expected, was the house wine, Pinot Grigio. We highly recommend the Island Hideaway and will return if we find ourselves back in the area.

Always wonderful from start to finish! ...and finish with one of the many delicious desserts!

We arrived about 5:15pm and were seated right away. My husband ordered the crab cake dinner, and I had the fettuccine with mixed sauce (alfredo and red sauce). For dessert, we each ordered a slice of cake and shared. Everything was fantastic. Service was great. Will definitely be going back.

A great dining experience! Food was delicious and loved being outside. Our server April was outstanding!! Will definitely be back!

Best crab cake we've had on our "find the best crab cake" expedition, delicious options for GF and vegetarians in our group, and while the restaurant was busy, we could still hear each other! The waitstaff was delightful. Cocktails were a little sweet, but the bar menu selection was one of the best we've seen since moving to SoMD. Wish we'd had room for the creme brule dessert-- next time!

Never disappointed with Island Hideaway. Favorite restaurant in the area. A little pricey but the food is always fresh, excellent, and delicious! Worth every penny. Cocktails are also made with fresh ingredients, which I love and it makes a world of a difference with flavor. Staff are friendly and provide great service. Highly recommend this restaurant, always!

My wife and I love the Island Hideaway and dine there whenever we're in the area. However; during our visit yesterday, there is one waiter with an extremely loud laugh that was quite annoying. He was very friendly but we thought he joked around a bit too much with his coworkers and the people he was serving. We're not prudes and love for people to have a good time, but this was a bit much. I would still highly recommend going there as the food is really good with outside seating near the water. But someone please tell that waiter to tone it down a bit.😂

This is our favorite and go to restaurant on the island. We love the food drinks, the atmosphere, all of it. 

I love Island Hideway, have only ever had great food, service and cocktails. Never disappoints.

Great variety of choices. I loved the lettuce wrap appetizer and beautifully presented. Crab cake was a true all crab Maryland crab cake. The asparagus was perfect and delicious. Dessert was beautiful and delicious but best as take home I had key lime pie and companion had the amazing chocolate toffee cake. both needed time to get down to room temperature -too frozen to eat immediately.

We sat immediately for our reservation time. Our table was a bit uneven as we were on the gravel patio. We had to ask a busser to see if he could find our waiter as we sat for around 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. The atmosphere and the views were amazing though.
