Great atmosphere, crab cakes and filet mignon were very tasty and deserts almond cake was out of this world.
One order prepared incorrectly. An item we did not order was mysteriously added to our bill. Entre portion size was disappointing. Great spot overall, but unfortunately won't be going back.
It all started so well. Friendly welcome. Drinks served. Food upon arrival looked good. Unfortunately that's when things went down hill. I ordered the crab cake. It looked tasty even tho the meat to bun ratio was off. The bun was way bigger than the filling. Same goes for my husband's burger. His burger was under seasoned. He asked for the Caesar salad with no croutons, but it was served with the croutons and my crab cake was burnt on the bottom making it inedible. The Manager was uninterested and surly. It's probably A nice place for drinks but the food is below average especially for the price.
Over rated. Small serving sizes for the $$$. Order the fish of the day and the portion size was the size of hamburger patty and dry. Salad was on a 5 inch saucer plate and very small. Skinny fries were the best part of meal. Would not recommend. Better choices on the island.
A very enjoyable space. I take my 95 year-old father here for lunch. He enjoys sitting outside looking over the water. The food has been excellent every time. Service is always very friendly. The only complaint is sometimes it takes a while to get their attention for something likesalt and pepper or cocktail sauce.

Dined inside and outside on two occasions for dinner. The food and service were pretty good. The noise level inside the relatively small interior was high, but tolerable. I would recommend visiting and would definitely dine here again.

Always enjoy the experience at Island Hideaway. The food is very good, the service very attentive, and the fuse when dining outside are wonderful. I just wish they had steamed shrimp on the menu. But we will be back again.
Made a booking and turned up on time. The table we were offered right inside the door next to the hostess station when we said not itthe next table was next to the kitchen door and was worse than the first offering . There were other free tables in the restaurant but when we asked about these we were told they were for later booking. We then left the hostess was as ignorant as you could get would.not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Always delicious. Took our friends on this visit. We sat outside. Food is always spot on. They even let me accommodated me to change a special from surf and turf to surf and surf. Desserts are homemade and always yummy.
Had a great experience here tonight. Our sever Amanda was great. Very pleasant and on top of it !
We got the crab dip for our appetizer. It was good but three pretzel logs was just not enough. You need four logs !
Got the blacked rockfish dinner and was a little disappointed with the portion size but overall good experience.

Wonderful food and views from outdoor patio. Our go-to restaurant when entertaining out of town guests.
I NEVER write bad reviews. And I have always loved this restaurant and have been here countless times. But on two separate occasions while waiting for the bathroom I have been approached by the owner stating the bathroom is only for customers. (After I had literally sat and ate an entire meal at the establishment both times) This rubbed me the wrong way the first time, but honestly makes me not want to go again after it happening a second time.

They say they are dog friendly online but we showed up today to eat with our pup after sailing all day to get here and we were turned away. Disappointing.
Always great food and service. Go ther for every special occasion. Now that the deck is open parking is at a premium. Arrive early so you have time to find on street parking.
The Island Hideaway is a family run restaurant that overlooks a portion of the Back Creek on Solomons Island. It is a quaint eatery with a nice bar area, great homemade cakes, and a hearty menu.
The skinny fries were excellent as usual - crisp and well seasoned.
Their weekly special shotgun shells appetizer (stuffed jalapeño halves) was deep fried with a slightly sweet and spicy sauce.
Their salads were fresh and crisp.
The thick cut pork chop was accompanied by wild rice and asparagus. The white rice and asparagus were cooked well. The pork chop was flavorful, but slightly overdone.
The homemade cake was excellent as usual. Fresh strawberries brought acidity and brightness alongside the cream frosting and great yellow cake flavor / texture.
