The Island Hideaway

Amazing! The environment, food, and service is incomparable. The hard work ethic of the staff and owners is evident. They didn't miss a beat, even during a big event on Solomon's Island. Thanks!

This was our first time eating at the Island Hideway. Food was top notch., ambiance was lovely, and service was excellent. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

We have been to Island Hideaway many times in the past, but it had been a few months since our last visit. This one will likely be our last for the foreseeable future. To start, our waiter, Chris D. Seemed to have an issue with us from the moment we sat down. Was extremely short with us. Didn't elaborate on anything. Borderline threw the soup my wife ordered at her. Seemed displeased when we asked him a question or explanation on something. Until the end of the meal he was rude to us. Once the check came, his attitude shifted and he wanted to act like we were friends. We made a reservation over a week ago and felt like we were rushed out. Never elaborated on specials or cuts of the day, just asked what we'd have for everything all at once. Asked once if we wanted dessert, when declined, said he'd be back with check and boxes. From sitting down to leaving the restaurant, we were there maybe 45 minutes. Not the typical experience you'd want to have. The food was very bland. Not sure if they've changed their sauce in the last year or so, but their red sauce for their pastas left a lot to be desired. Was an extremely bland meal for the price. Best part was the garlic bread. Was very disappointed in the quality. Couple the poor service and bland food with the higher price tag, and this was not an enjoyable experience. Hope we are outliers and just had a bad experience, but this wasn't good at all.

Dropped in for a drink to warm up before going to the Christmas Walk in Solomons Island. Lovely atmosphere in the dining area & Chris & Charlie who are co-owners set our party of five with a table. Wonderful. The next time we will have to stay for dinner.

Food was delicious and portions were good size. Crab cakes had a generous amount of crab. Service was far above most restaurants.

Kid-friendliness: Staff showed special attention to parents dining with small children. They appear to have a great deal of patients.

Fabulous place to dine! The venue has a great relaxing view of Solomons Harbor & the Narrows. Family owned & it shows! The food is great, I have eaten here many times & I have always enjoyed the food.

Cream of Crab is great! Had the blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich which was also fantastic!

Keep up the great work & service! To many people have purchased/rented restaurants on the island only to let it go to hell after a year or two, not this place! The owners pride in their establishment truly shows!

Parking: Parking be a challenge in their lot if it is a busy day for them. The food, atmosphere, & view/setting make a short stroll from the car to the restaurant 100% worth it!

Kid-friendliness: I've been taking my family there for years, yes, kid friendly.

Absolutely delicious! Wings are top notch, the seafood canelloni is exquisite, and dessert was fabulous. Shayla helped us and deserves to be mention for being a wonderful hostess.

When I tell you, the fettuccine alfredo, is the best alfredo I've ever had in my life.. I'm so serious. You could fly to Italy and trek the land for some hidden cave where pasta making ancestors reside, learn the ways of pasta, and this is still the best. Alfredo di Lelio could make you a bowl himself.. and this is still better. It is velvety smooth, rich, and creamy. The blackened chicken - juicy and cooked to perfection. The bread to sop up the leftover sauce.. chef's kiss. I live for this alfredo dish. I promise, you will NOT be disappointed.

Aside, the atmosphere is great, the staff and owners are always so friendly, and they bring your check in a hollowed out book. This place.. is a local favorite!!
