Sonny's NY Pizza

I have ordered the baked ziti & garlic knots literally 3 times this week. i am obsessed. The garlic knots are doughy and buttery- very good. The sauce in the baked ziti is super good and even amazing for leftovers. whoever is cooking that baked ziti...thank youuu!!!!

Sonny’s of NY isn’t exactly the slice of New York heaven I was hoping for. I went in with high hopes but ended up with pizza that fell a bit flat. The crust was fine, but the sauce lacked that flavorful kick—more like a hint of tomato than a sauce with any soul. And let’s talk about the pepperoni: they didn’t bother to bake it into the cheese; just tossed it on top like an afterthought, leaving it to slip and slide right off. All in all, Sonny’s feels more like a missed note than a pizza symphony. Not the worst, but hardly worth a return ticket

I really liked this pizzeria. The cheese and peperoni slices were great. It feels like an old school NYC shop. I'm definitely coming back

I’m a good customer. Their food is almost always top notch. Last night, though, was a different experience. It was a Thursday night. We picked up 2 large pizzas at 6:30. A Godfather pizza, my usual, and a cheese pizza, my son’s usual. Both tasted old and dried out. Overcooked. They’re cheese is usually hot and gooey. Melt in your mouth kind of delicious. But last night’s pizzas were overcooked. The crust was really dark and hard. The dough hadn’t risen. The cheese was hard and dry. The meat didn’t taste fresh. I got the strong impression it was a pizza made earlier for someone else who didn’t pick it up so they re-heated it for me. Thus, old and dried out. Really disappointed.

First time visiting. Ordered online for pickup. Order was accurate and ready on time. The restaurant seemed nice and clean on the inside and the staff was friendly and helpful. Ordered Greek salad, gluten free with sausage and onions, and the godfather pizza. Greek salad was fresh and crisp; enjoyed the dressing as well. The godfather pizza was great, crust was soft and chewy. The gluten free was good - it wasn't the best gluten free I've had but it was average. The biggest plus was the pizza came with its own little pizza cutter! I've never had a restaurant do that before, so it was a great addition so you don't have to worry about the cross contamination from the cutter that's been used on all the other pizzas. The cost was pretty average for what we received. Will return again!

If you're a New Yorker, this brings home to you. The pizza was great. The pictures of NY from Brooklyn Bridge to the WTC, street signs, and subway tiles. It felt really good to be there. I highly recommend. A good feel for home.
