Very cute local pizza and pasta place with fantastic pizza and the best orange crushes. The service was great, as was the strawberry tres leches cake. I cannot wait to go back and try their pasta.

A perfect match for the small town feel of Takoma Park. Good food friendly service.

The pizza was delicious and fresh, and the environment was relaxing. Everyone who was serving was kind and helpful with a great attitude. This, in its entirety, made me enjoy my meal even more.

I had food delivered to me which was very delicious but what really got me was the delivery driver I'm in a wheelchair and I had a package come the same time he delivered and he helped me bring my package in he did not have to do that he did it out the kindness of his heart I'm just so thankful because it was going to rain and my stuff would have been messed up thank you Roscoe's pizza and special thanks to the delivery driver God bless you

This is my preferred neighborhood spot if I'm eating out. There is a full vegan menu. I really enjoy the cannelini soup. I get almost every time. Of the pizzas, I love the vegan wild mushroom. the vegan harvest, and the vegan capriccioso without the faux sausage. I don't eat much gluten and love that the wheat flour they use doesn't irritate me. The owners are great and the staff is very attentive. Updated from previous review on 2024-11-22

This is for anyone who likes artisan pizzas with soft, firm crust, a bit of chew and a slightly charred bottom. This seasonal summer squash pizza is a top 5, maybe top 3 for me, including a few from Rome. Thin strips of squash over a pesto sauce with crispy prosciutto, whipped recotta and a drizzle of maple syrup. I like a bit of heat with the sweet so I added a few shakes of red pepper flakes.

It’s a shame that this is a seasonal pie. If you are in the DC area it is worth the trip to Tacoma Park.

Dates appetizer are amazing. Pizza is fine, but bland. This was our second time here, and we sat outside.

After 20 minutes waiting for a pizza, we found our server--who had disappeared--and asked where our pizza was. He looked surprised, went in the back, and came out with the old "printer stuck" trick. But, he said, they're making ours immediately and it will be out in three or four minutes! Fifteen minutes later it finally came. (Mind you the deck and the restaurant were half empty.)

We saw our waiter even less after that, but toward the end of our pizza another server apologized and asked if we wanted free dessert. Now 50 minutes into our Roscoe's adventure, we said yes.

Ten minutes later, no cake. I mean, if you offer free dessert because service is bad, you go in and get it and bring it out immediately. I went in to inquire, and the server who had offered us the cake said it was just coming out. I gave her a card, and asked if she could run the check so we could leave right after, and went back to our table outside.

Five minutes later, the server came out with the check and...no cake! We paid and left, but not before complaining and asking why no manager had come out to address the situation? It was truly terrible service.

Maybe Roscoe's is acceptable for a neighborhood joint, but it is certainly not a destination place. Between the average taste and poor service, this place wouldn't last three months anywhere else but Metro DC--where good pizza places are few and far between.

Thank you for redelivering my food to my correct address. It was an innocent mistake. They immediately remade my order and delivered it with no extra fees.
Besides great customer service…the food is great!!!

“The life of a critic is simple in many ways, we risk little, and we have power over those who offer their work and their service to us, we thrive on negative reviews, fun to write and to read.
Visiting this restaurant is a perfect escape to magnificent Italy. Chef Gusteau was right: Anyone can cook. But I finally realize what he really meant; not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.

We go to Roscoe's frequently and our recent trip was disappointing.

We ordered a bottle of sparkling water and it was brought to the table and left there. Normally the server would offer to pour it. Never mind except it was hard to open the bottle,.. but we got there.

We ordered smoked salmon crostini, for which we asked for plates so we could share. It. Took about 15 minutes to get the plates. The crostini itself was soft to start with and got soggy sitting there until the plates came. Got through it but it was meh.

We had the pappardelle with chicken added. The sauce was overpowering and had a bitter aftertaste, I've had this before and it wasn't so. We couldn't get through much of the dish. We had asked for chicken on top, and that was dry. Disappointed, because we love to eat at Roscoe's.

We ordered an arugula salad which was great as usual.

If it were not our neighborhood restaurant, I wouldn't go back. But since it is, I'll probably try it again. Hopefully it was just an off day.

small wood fired pizzas. crust potential is high but the middle has always been limp.

great loc. almost nice patio. inside is ok but semi cramped.

12+ years ago Roscoe's used to be the kind of place you'd crave to come back to. An every other week spot bordering on once a week spot.

8-12 yrs ago... i heard ownership changes? concluded after about 4 visits that the food just was not good anymore. Same menu, just no zing. Hot dishes often didn't arrive hot. Wouldn't be offensive if it weren't expensive. Kind of laughed at the place in that era, but stopped in maybe annually to give it another chance. Bummer--beautiful location and good memories. they ended up dingy-ifying the patio. 2023 visit was still sub meh: lukewarm food, overall lack of energy in flavors. obvious ham in a V / GF soup, LOL.

2024 update... 1 visit decentish food again. hot, well plated, decent flavors but missing a little something (like... finishing touches), but pleasant enough. if this is norm now... if friends insisted...
