Great we experience each and every time. Try the key lime pie, it's authentic.
Excellent food and the people are very friendly.
Despite the store being open until 6, employee refused to take a sandwich order at 5:30, saying it wasn’t possible to make a sandwich between 5:30 and close at 6. Strange policy for a sandwich shop.
Love this place, but just a suggestion from a loyal customer — could you maybe make more baguettes? You run out every day. Every day on my way home from work I peek in the window in the hope you have some left, but you never do. Today I came in just after lunch and again, no baguettes. :)
I’ve been a fan of Spring Mill bread and pastries for many years, usually visiting the Gaithersburg location. Recently for the first time I stopped in at the Takoma Park location. I was delighted to discover a seating area, both indoor and outdoor, with charming decor as well as the always delicious baked goods. The honey whole wheat bread is my go-to (although every bread I’ve tried is spectacular). Among the many other offerings, my fave among the savory selections is the spinach feta turnover (perfect at both locations); on the sweet side, the cinnamon rolls are astoundingly good. While in the Takoma store, I fell into conversation with an elderly patron who absolutely loves the place (and also is a spinach turnover fan)—she was trying to decide what to take home after enjoying her coffee and a treat at an indoor table. This is truly a neighborhood place, like some charming village shop in a cozy mystery novel.
I have this bakery in my hometown and love it. However this location must’ve been understaffed or something it was very frustrating. I ordered a cold sandwich. And I specifically asked twice for an ingredient not to be put in the sandwich. It was busy granted, but they said it would take 10 minutes. I saw other people get their food before I did and they ordered after me. 35 minutes later I got my sandwich with the ingredient I asked not to be on there and couldn’t even eat it. If I was in the area again I would not go back to this bakery. Super disappointing.
Delicious bread and kind service

I visited this establishment and ordered a turkey sandwich and a latte. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by unprofessional behavior from the staff. While my order was being prepared, I overheard an employee loudly mocking my choice, calling it a "basic ass turkey sandwich." The cashier also found this amusing and went to inform the coworker just how audible her comment was. This made me feel quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the food and latte were not up to standard. It appeared that many of the staff members were minors, which might explain the immaturity, but such behavior is unacceptable in any restaurant setting. I will not be returning.

The main thing on the menu- Bread - doesn’t taste well at all. It’s gooey, heavy and when you cut it it’s clumps, sticks to the knife and smells like underbaked yeast. We’ve tried multiple loaves at various times, it’s just never
good quality.

This cute bakery has incredible baked goods. I had the spinach feta turnover and a slice of carrot cake. The turnover was stuffed with filling, and the pastry was flaky. The carrot cake was the best I've ever had. The cake was moist and well-spiced, and the cream cheese frosting was light and so delicious. The service was wonderful, too. I will be back!

Honestly, y’all need to do better with the dress code, I saw to girls with open toe sandals in back and one of them didn’t even have socks on. Just bare foot. It’s really not professional or cleanly. I love coming here but the service today was not it.

Visited on 7/8/24. There were flies crawling all over the baked goods—GROSS! (I’m referring to the scones, cookies, muffins, etc, next to the register—the case isn’t fully enclosed like the case that is used for the cakes, which IS fully enclosed). I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. The owner needs to invest in cases that can be closed or at least put some type of covering over ALL of the baked goods to keep the flies off—it’s not like this place can’t afford to do so. This is a public health hazard!

Yummy baked goods. The only place with dark roast coffee in Takoma and Takoma Park so it's my go to café.

I always enjoy coming to spring mill, either to grab a quick coffee fix or for lunch. The staff are always friendly and patient. It’s also nice to sit outside when the weather’s lovely.
