From the moment you come to this place they give you a good feeling. Very hospitable team, it is a happy place to to go out with your friends or with your date. tasty meals, creative chief cook and stuff, comfortable price and generous service. Highly recommended.

Very sad to hear that this business has closed. This place had great food and service. We especially loved the crab dip, the crab soup, crab balls, and the softshell crab blt sandwhich. All are terrific. There is not a restaurant as good within miles and I know will be missed by many.

The end of an era. Now closed, this place had been a local icon for decades. Went the Friday before closure, packed with older clientele looking for a last experience at a classic 60s-70s style eatery. It was literally a walk back in time to go here - ambiance and decor unchanged for many, many years. Food was solid if simple fare. Wait staff were efficient and cheerful from their decades of experience. This restaurant will be missed by many, this reviewer included.

I love the atmosphere, the food, and especially the people who have made my visits over the years so very special. Each and every time myself and my family and friends were made to feel like your family. St. Patrick's Day was never complete without having a great time at the Shamrock. Was even hoping to have a small group there this spring to be married. Now they are closing. Was glad my fiance and I were able to have one last meal there. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful part of my life for so many years. Thank you and God bless to you all.

We came to the Shamrock today for one last meal before they close forever. Outstanding food, service and atmosphere as it always has provided us over they years. We will truly miss our visits to this quaint restaurant. It was just like stepping back to a simpler time every time we'd go there. If you can get there before they close on 12/30/2019.....DO SO!!
I am absolutely heartbroken that this long in business famous restaurant will be closing at the end of the month. I made sure I took home two quarts of their famous seafood chowder which I will miss dearly as well as the staff and the other lovely items on the menu and the gift shop of course. May God bless you all!!!!!

We ate there for a final time last night. It was wonderful, as always and will be greatly missed. It was more crowded that I've ever seen it, with so many people wanting to say a last goodbye. BUT, I was surprised by some of the testy and unkind customers who had the staff and owners on pins and needles. Please understand that it is YOUR privilege to be able to dine here one last time. Let them know how much you appreciate them. Our waitress was near tears for most of the night due to the impatience of some of the diners. Understand, that they are slammed and be a little compassionate this holiday season. Tip well, and know that it will be worth every moment of your, perhaps long but totally memorable and delicious meal.

What a place! The atmosphere was truly authentic Irish. Shamrock has Irish theme gifts to purchase. And the food is tasty, tasty, tasty. My family in our travels over the years passed the restaurant many times but until Sundy this year we finally went to try. Awesome!!!!! Crowed with patrons. Sadly, after 57 years, the owners are going to retire and close the restaurant. I will go back before the doors close on December 30, 2019.

The nicest restaurant in Thurmont is closing for good on Dec 30. This is a blow to the entire community. The food was good, the atmosphere was Irish pub. We will miss it.
