Top of the Hill/Babes Boys Tavern

Recently discovered this restaurant. Absolutely love it. Food is delicious. Sunita has been wonderful. She has made me and my guests feel right at home with each visit. She is a true gem. Every time we go, the food is delicious!

I recently visited Babes and Boys, looking forward to supporting a local Maryland establishment and enjoying a relaxed evening. Unfortunately, within just 20 minutes, I was approached by a waitress who informed me that my attire (casual jeans and a tank top—typical summer wear) was inappropriate. She then presented me with a shirt, indicating I'd need to put it on or leave the restaurant.

Interestingly, their website mentions absolutely nothing about a dress code, nor was there any clearly visible signage upon entering. Even after thoroughly checking their site afterward, no dress policy is posted anywhere. This left me feeling singled out, particularly since other customers present were dressed similarly relaxed. Both the waitress and fellow patrons seemed just as surprised by the incident as I was, suggesting inconsistent enforcement of this so-called policy.

Given that no other establishment nearby enforces such rules, and considering I was the youngest colored customer present at that time, I can't help but feel I was unfairly targeted and discriminated against. Despite the pleasant demeanor of staff and regulars, the experience left a very uncomfortable impression. I genuinely wanted to enjoy this place and become a regular, but after feeling unwelcome and singled out, I definitely won't be returning.

I'd strongly recommend management either consistently enforce and clearly communicate any dress codes or reconsider such arbitrary practices entirely.

Place never goes by hours listed. Just went by with a crowd of people and guy was locking the building

Food was good. Chill atmosphere. Prices reasonable. Had issues with bartender Arin being slow with service, spent all her time taking & flirting with other customers instead of checking on our table. Needed beer refill and sauce for our meal while our food was getting cold. Otherwise good experience.

Love there cheese burgers best around. Wish they had home made ranch dressing for the wings.

The food, atmosphere and staff were all spectacular. Honestly the best grilled shrimp tacos I've ever had and the cream of crab soup was fabulous. Also got the flounder sandwich which was perfectly cooked! If I am ever up this way again I would go out of my way to get more food.
