I finally got around to trying Spiced Black, and I was mostly disappointed. I created my own bowl, and it didn’t turn out very good. I ended up throwing away more than half, which is unusual for me because I hate wasting food. Maybe I need to try one of the premade bowls. I’m not sure. I’ll return if I’m in the area, but I’m not rushing back. I paid $23 for a bowl, which felt extremely expensive. That said, the service was excellent. The employees were extremely nice!
The bowl was full of flavor. The greens are excellent.

I visited Spice Black this past Sunday after being referred by my two sisters. I live in Virginia, but while visiting them in Maryland to watch the game, I decided to try it out. I ordered four different bowls—two chicken, two shrimp—and a side of BBQ chickpeas. Let me tell you, this was some of the best food!
I don’t eat chicken or beef, so I truly appreciate good vegan options, and Spice Black did not disappoint. Everything was absolutely fantastic. I’ve been raving about this place to my coworkers all week (especially those who live in Maryland). No pictures because, honestly, everything was gone by Monday at lunch!
The service could’ve been a bit better, but the food made up for it—definitely worth the visit!
My son has ordered many times form here and let's me taste his food. I was so looking forward to my own 1st order tonight. I was disappointed to discover the food was dry. When my daughter went to return her meal because of an error there was no offer to fix the mistake. She had to order and pay for another dish with no refund for the 1st dish that they took and put in the trash. The only good thing was plenty of dry food for my family of 4 that had to pay for five meals. UPDATE: in addition to this review I emailed the company about what happened and their response was immediate. I have a pending refund and had a very productive conversation with one of the owners. I am willing to try it again in hopes of a much better experience. I will increase my rating to 3 stars solely on management interactions. TY for making it right SB!
Y'all ! When I say I thoroughly enjoyed my food, so flavorful, decent options, and fresh. I went on 10/16/25. Jerry was my server and he was very patient and let me sample a sauce before I put it on my food. His recommendations did not steer me wrong and he also didn't make me feel like I was a problem because I couldn't decide fast enough. They are not stingy like some other places that put 5 beans on the spoon then pressure you down the line. I didn't get any meats in my bowl but they have plenty of options. I got spinach, jolof rice, kidney beans, roasted okra and beets, mango salsa, cilantro, plantain, and etouffee sauce . I took some jerk vinaigrette dressing which was tasty but the food was so good that I didn't use much of it. My bowl was $12.72. Go try it, the chances of you leaving disappointed are slim.

Food was good. I had the bbq soul southern bowl. The chicken and greens are the main star. Didn’t care for the corn bread toppings. Now that bbq ranch dressing is hitting. The tropical punch drink is good . Customer service here is awesome.

I went to eat yesterday but the flavor of the food changed. I think they changed cooks before. The salmon had a different flavor. Yesterday it came out rough and the rice was hard without flavor.

Tell me why ya so good I got a vehicle towed just to eat here? 😭 long story short, I’m coming from out of town. I ate here earlier this year & it was the best bowl I’ve ever had. Came back in town recently & you know I had to come back for that bowl. So a friend let me use his ride so I wouldn’t have to uber. Walk in & fam serving is all positive vibes. Bro behind me in the line said my bowl looked like a Thanksgiving plate 🤣 I was pulling out the parking lot & my lady reminded me that we don’t know when we’ll be coming back, so I spin the block & came back in for a SECOND bowl. Pull back up to our friends spot & I was in so much of a rush to eat this food that I sat there & parked in a spot I wasn’t supposed to. Next morning, he asks us, where we parked. I’m like, right here…it sits in…I got the whip towed smh $225 later…I don’t regret gettin that second bowl…SN: Hit me up if ya EVER open a spot in Atlanta! I wanna be ya ambassador, I’ll get all my people to check ya out! Much love 🖤✌🏾
