The best jolof rice that I’ve ever had. Also the pepe soup has a delicious spicy aroma. It will not only satisfy your hunger but will also clear your sinuses. Great soup for the flu season ?. The mother and son are so welcoming and polite.Kid-friendliness: Clean bathrooms and Safe non-smoke environment for kids

I loved the stewed beef. But portions are too small. I was okay with my first visit, having stewed beef even if they mostly filled my take out with jollof rice and 4 pieces of beef for my beef stew however in my second visit, as usual, they overflowed my plate with jollof rice but now, they put 2 big bones of goat for my goat stew and only 2 pieces of meat. I will never go back again. Not worth the money. It should be one star but I liked the spicy stewed beef so I put two stars.

My husband and I ordered the assorted meat (w/ jollof rice and mixed vegetables) and the stewed drumsticks (w/ white rice and stew) yesterday. The drumsticks were... sad (that's the best way to describe it). Not much flavor, dry on one side, tender on the other, it was a mess and the meal only came with 2 of them. The white rice was definitely cheap instant rice, and the "stew" was mostly oil, but sadly, the most flavorful thing out the bunch. The assorted meat was okay I guess, it didn't taste like anything despite eating 3 different parts of a cow. The jollof rice literally tasted how a cigarette smells which I've never experienced before with any food ever??? And the mixed veggies were definitely cheap little frozen corn, carrots, peas, and green beans heated up in a microwave.I'm surprised the meals came with drinks because they haven't before, but I see it was needed to wash down their "food". I have given this place the benefit of the doubt multiple times, but I would politely skip it if you're ever considering eating here. The food is NOT authentic African food, it's EXPENSIVE (for what you get), and NOT good. No comment on the service or cleanliness of the restaurant because I did not go in the last time.

After four months of craving fufu , pepper soup and okra stew - I finally found a place in southern Maryland that had all four. My pregnancy craving was wholly satisfied. The customer service was excellent. The cashier smiled the entire time, and was friendly and polite to my family- who admittedly, have never eaten African food. He was patient as we talked through the menu options for my eldest, and swayed the current youngest to try stewed beef.We sat down and about 20-30 minutes later our entire order was brought out to the table. We enjoyed it immensely. My husband, again has never experimented with this typeOf cuisine, found the jollof rice to be flavorful and better tasting than he expected.I absolutely devoured as much Okra and pepper soup as I could. Thanks guys! Glad to know there’s a place with yummy food in the area.

I stopped in. Service was ok, and the place was clean, but food left a lot to be desired. Small portions as well. I had the goat, spinach and fufu. Wasn't good. Goat was underseasoned, gamey and not tender. Probably will not be back. The portion was on the light side as well. $24 for meal plus side of plantain, and brought my own drink.

I was really hoping to love chobas especially since, its close by. The staff was amazing and warm. The food however; was bland. I'd purchase efo riro, and it just tasted like tomatoed stewed spinach, it lacked flavor. Also, my chicken tasted old. They did have amazing puffs. I would get those again.

I absolutely love Choba's!! Now I have not been inside but have definitely had via delivery service and they never disappoint. The food is always hot and delicious. I have been a few times and this was the very first pics of the first visit. It just gives me Nigerian vibes!!! A little pricey, but worth it. I could eat it more if I could afford it lol.

This is fake African food trying to be passed off as authentic.I ordered the peanut soup with a side of chicken and jollof. Jollof was instant rice, not even the correct type. Seasoning was not authentic or even good. They put frozen mixed vegetables on top, like the kind served in public schools. Chicken was under-seasoned as well. Only a small amount of peanut soup was given, about half the container. The second order was supposed to be Nigerian stew and white rice. Not even enough sauce to call stew. I wanted fish, but they were out. Only four small pieces of beef were given.I’ve grown up with Ghanaian and Nigerian food and this is disgraceful and disappointing.Save your money and go to Accra and get better chicken and jollof for $5. Not worth the $27.Would not recommend.

The jollof rice combo with chicken was okay. The goat meat peices were really small and there were bone pieces with no meat on them in the Okro and stew. Overall, the serving sizes are too small for almost $40 bucks. The cashier was polite. I won't be returning.
