on 3/17/2024 we stopped at Famous Dave's in Waldorf MD for dinner and as always were beyond satisfied. On this day it was different due to Mikey H our server who made the visit all worth while. The service we received from this young man was impeccable and almost perfect. He was on time, friendly, delightful and knew what we needed or wanted before we could even say a word. We will definitely be going back and asking for his section. The food never disappoints and is always amazing each time we go. Thanks for another great experience. WELL DONE MIKEY H!!
My rating is strictly because of this location’s male manager. Every Friday, while in season, I get the boatload of catfish tenders but I usually go to the Alexandria location. This location shorted me on the amount of tenders and when I brought the food back to show the manager, he gave me hard time and didn’t want to honor what was advertised. Luckily, another manager, Dominique, heard what happened and kindly fixed my order.
Our server was Mike and he was great! Wasn’t very busy when me and my fiance dined there but he was still attentive and had good conversation. Food was great as always, and it is a very clean restaurant.
The hostess didn't seem to care that we had a reservation. We were seated at a booth in the bar. It was quiet at the beginning and the bar tender was visiting us frequently enough. Then more people came in and the visits became less frequent. By the time we had to leave, I had to actually stand at the bar and insist we get our check because we had a committment elsewhere. It took over 30 minutes to get leftover containers and pay.

As BBQ goes, this isn't my favorite. I think for the novice this might be a great value to get some BBQ at a value that tastes like BBQ but is not made with the highest quality of meats. The restaurant does their best with the poor quality of meat they are given to work with. The spices are fair and the BBQ sauce are delightful. Overall I think Famous Dave's was a legit BBQ joint back in the day when Dave used the highest quality of meats and spices. Fast forward 10+ years and now that it is a corporation, they are cutting corners to make more money by using lesser quality ingredients. I love the look of the place and hope that some day they upgrade their products.

This was my first visit to any Famous Dave's. I walked in on a Tuesday evening through the "To Go" door- which I might add is a genius idea! You can order at a counter and wait for your food, order online or over the phone and pick it up through this entrance. To the right is the hostess stand for those patrons that will be dining in. Everyone was very pleasant when I walked in. I was greeted by a young man (maybe HS/early college age). He greeted me and asked if he could take my order- when I told him I've never been here before and was looking for recommendations- he appeared to be excited to share the menu and walk me through the most popular items. I eventually decided on the 2- meat combo (pictured) choosing the Famous Ribs & Pulled Pork accompanied by 2 sides (coleslaw & mashed potatoes), and all meals finish with a Corned Bread muffin. If you look at the picture you can tell I was eager to jump in prior to taking a picture. The Ribs- the best I've had in a LONG time- they fell off the bone, were perfectly smoked and could taste in each bite. The pulled pork was cooked very well- with just enough juice, spices, and BBQ sauce. The often forgotten- sides...The coleslaw was a creamy coleslaw- which is my preference and was very good. I'm not a huge mashed potato fan, but thought I would give them a shot- I was not let down- they were really tasty. Rounding out this incredible meal was one of the better cornbread muffins I've had. It wasn't dry at all- very tasty. Overall, if you are in the Waldorf area and are a fan of BBQ I would highly recommend Dave's Bar-B-Que. I only got a glimpse of the dine-in restaurant, but from what I saw, it looked very clean, well put together, well decorated, and an overall great ambiance for any group of people.

I take my wife to eat here every couple of weeks, in Waldorf, MD, especially on Tuesday. We like to order the Feast for 2 as it is the special on Tuesdays. We like to get the chopped pork to go with the ribs and usually get the roasted chicken and sometimes the fried (both are tasty). We also come on that day because our favorite server (Trey) is there. It is always a pleasure to see him. He is always very courteous and be listens to his customers and any special requirements we may ask for. He is always on top of it. The atmosphere is always enjoyable. Good music in the background. Sports on the television, news or even cooking shows. And of course there is always something good to drink.
I really like Famous Dave's, however, the staff need to start wearing hair nets. I do not need to see staff walking around with hair to their knees in braids or loose flying over my food. I came home to find hair wrapped around my brisket. Please advise ALL staff that handles the food to consider wearing their hair up or in a net. PLEASE!
