I havent been to Horace and Dickies since they moved out of DC. It was a great staple. I had a taste for fried fish and I was near so decided to stop and give a try. I had heard the location on Allentown Rd. is the best location and they recently had a location close. I went to the location in Waldorf, MD. My experience was just ok. I was hoping for better. I ordered a Flounder Fish sandwich, shrimp and fries. The food was seasoned well. The shrimp were really good. Nice and juicy and plump. The service was jist ok. The person taking my order was not engaging. He just waited for me to tell him what I wanted. He didn't ask if I wanted fries or a drink. I had to ask of fries came with the sandwich. It had been a while since I had been so I really forgot. I do recall that although they call it a sandwich, it isn't really a sandwich. It is fish and two.slices of white bread. I came home and fixed a nice sandwich on bread here at the house as I did want a sandwich. Like I said I was familiar with what I was getting but if I had never been to Horace and Dickies, it is a chance that I would have been disappointed when I got my food as the gentleman at the register wasn't ultra helpful and informative. They no longer have the lemon pepper seasoning. That was the best when they were in DC. I forgot, I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese. Don't waste your time. It is not good at all. It is cheesy but tastes like noodles, cheese and salt.

Desserts are noted on the window but there is no indication of desserts had on the menu inside nor on the menu online. I had high hopes but unfortunately this place has gone downhill. I probably will not return as there are places with better fish options but wish them luck as they are a staple.

The flavor of the food was good. However,my fries were burnt, I asked for hush puppies but they ran out, so I got yams and they were cold like they came out of the fridge. And I was only given one catfish. The shrimp were small and I only got 4 and they could all fit inside my hand together. The oysters were the best thing. I heard good things about Horace & Dickies but I was told after, that I should go to the original one in DC. I paid over $30 for my meal and For this to be my first time experiencing here, I was highly disappointed. I won't be back to this location.

This place is a rip off. I went to Horace and Dickies today at 1:00 p.m. They were out of french fries, coleslaw and shrimp. The chicken wings dinner consists of four small wing portions. However, it was $10.20. The food was a little bland, the prices was extremely high for the portions. There was only three people in the restaurant, someone could have gone to a store and got a couple bags of frozen fries. Who is running that place. It was my first and last time there. One guy came from DC he was so upset about the prices. Wait until he gets home and see the little portions of food he has for all that money he spent. I will not be supporting this business again.

Unseasoned, underwhelming, low quality food. Greens and Mac tasted like water. Fish was alright, crispy but very greasy and not too flavorful. We got the catfish, maybe their other options are better.

Food was enjoyable when we purchased previously. Went back on a Sunday at 6pm, and they were closed despite the hours on Google saying they were open till 8pm

The location in Waldorf has the worst service. I order my fish dinner and when it was given to me, I ask could I have some hot sauce and tarter sauce. I was told it was in the bag and before I could check he immediately went in the back. And when I check the bag, there was no hot sauce, and one container of tater sauce. I will never order from this establishment again.

Have bought their sandwiches since 12th NE Washington 1990’s. Legendary. MLKing SE, all good.,Allentown Rd Camp Springs, Md. Stopped later, quality went south. Started buying here when first opened. Was good until lately. After today’s purchase, never again. Don’t even know what this was. An insult.

We need to support minority owned businesses if we want to see them to continue to flourish in our communities. With that being said, this place has some of the best fried fish that you can get anywhere! I ordered the fried whiting and it was fresh, hot, and seasoned to perfection! The only issue I have with this place sometimes is consistency. I went back and the fish tasted good but the freshness was lacking. I'll give yall one more try though because your fish slaps!! Please don't let me down this time 😊

I have never in my life smelled a more rotten smell than what we experienced when we received our fried chicken form this establishment. The smell from this chicken was obscene. The health department should investigate. I would advise for the health and safety for your family to stay away. The manager didn’t even want us to open the bag. Unacceptable. Please be careful when ordering from this location.

So this is what Horace and Dickies call a 4 piece whiting sandwich now. And I didn’t get a photo of the 23 French fries they gave me. I will say the fish did taste better than it looked. I didn’t notice the fish until I got home (my mistake, should’ve checked before I left). I don’t remember fish looking like this from Horace and Dickies. Welp, guess I have to find a new fish spot. And I forgot, got 2 of these and the price was around $36.
