Very nice memories, the doctors are very good
I worked for Lifebridge Health for a short time. I worked as a cook at Carroll Hospital. Think twice before eating there. There's a huge rodent infestation in the main kitchen where they prep, cook, and store food for patients, staff, and visitors. there's dirty equipment. Fountain soda and ice machines are absolutely never cleaned. Caked on greasy equipment can be found in both the main basement kitchen and the upstairs cafeteria and when I worked there I literally had to ask for them to order degreaser. Absolutely no training to employees in safe food handling practices and they cook 90% of the food in advance and just reheat it for you. There is also zero oversight for the employees, they are left to with no dictation and left to be in charge of themselves. I've worked in the food services industry for 20+ years and never have seen anything like it.I tried to bring these concerns to my Director of Food Services Bruce Rubino and he seemed less than pleased I brought these issues to his attention. I told him I've cooked for an unfathomable amount of people at this point in my career and working here has given me the opportunity to cook for the most important patrons I've ever encountered, the sick, the dying, families of those people, doctors, nurses, and all the staff that are working hard to make a difference in people's lives. A few days later he told me "Just so you know, the bar that you've set for yourself is kind of unwanted." yeah... the Director of Food Services of a HOSPITAL told that to one of his experienced employees who was trying to follow the company's motto of "Care Bravely" I was highly insulted and immediately felt undervalued and realized I'd never be able to advance under his leadership so I resigned.I brought this to HR's attention on my my exit interview and was told they'd have a talk with his supervisor. I asked after I left if I could get an update about whether they spoke with anyone or if any changes would be made, but my company email was revoked after that inquiry. I'd like to believe that this one facility and it's Director doesn't reflect the hospital as a whole. All my coworkers were great and I enjoyed working with them, but I didn't want to stay somewhere where I wasn't wanted. I hope they do make some changes moving forward. The least they can do is provide a decent meal for all that visit.

By far, the best items on the menu here include their whimsical selection of hospital-themed original sandwiches. They serve twists on classics like the Rachel, and also unique originals including the "Mark" and "Hey, Respiratory!" Their portion sizes are good, and their pricing is value oriented.
