La kantuta is not very good and the price does not match the flavor and quality of the food. I will not be coming back or recommending to others.
This location has a much better space than their former location, but the food and service is not as good. When the food was brought out, the server did not bring out enough silver ware. I had to wait while my food got cold. The food was also over cooked and crispy, except for the flank steak. As others have pointed out, the potatoes taste old. They taste like they were cooked a few days ago, frozen or left in the fridge before being served.
Some of the tables are right under the HVAC vents and will be super cold, so watch where you sit.
My bill included a 20% service charge even though I has less than 4 people. When I have come in the past with Latino people, even at 4 or more, we were never charged a service fee. Perhaps a service fee was added because I was there as a black single mom with children? Then, after they ran my card, they brought me another bill that asked me to choose a tip of either 18% or 20%, in top of the service fee.
The service fee is not mentioned in the menu or verbally either. It was just for me. Then the owner lady came over to ask how my day was and talked nice to me, as if she knew she was scamming me and didn’t want me to notice. It worked as I did not notice the service charge on top of the tip, so I walked out paying about 40% outside of the meal.
I called my Latino friend the next day who took me there the last time to ask if he received a service charge, and he said No. So, if you are black or go there as a female with children, watch you bill because they are discriminatory and predatory. I will not return.
The food here used to be much better bu the prices keep going up.
Being Bolivian I found this place like home. Not going to lie my mom’s cooking is better but you cannot beat her. Salteña was good. Silpancho huge! For two at least. Highly recommend it. I plan to go back for sopa de mani.
This is one spot I really like . I love the food. I was so excited to eat I forgot to take a before picture but I like the carne asada and the costillas. I definitely recommend

Kantuta’s is my favorite Bolivian restaurant in the DMV. Customer service is always top-notch!! The chicken salteñas are so good! My favorites are the falso conejo, charquekan, and the carne asada. All the soups are delicious and the portions are always very generous. The restaurant is very spacious and great for large groups.

I arrived with high expectations but the food is not that pleasant, the price is too excessive for that type of food and they also automatically charge you the tips… 18%!!! Crazy, isn't it something voluntary and not mandatory? Who regulates this charge? An experience that I will not repeat again…
