Falafel & Schwarma are good, so are burgers!

This strip mall shop is the weirdest, dumpiest "restaurant" I've ever been to in America, but the shawarma sandwich was absolutely fantastic! The sandwich assembly staff were really helpful and patient. The floor had ripped up tiles, miscellaneous stuff was stored partially hidden behind black curtains, and there were just a few tables along the wall of a large open area. Weird and dumpy! One star for the place. But I'll say again, the shawarma sandwiches, with a falafel on top, were fabulous! Go for the five star sandwich!

Delicious casual kosher diner. The falafel was especially good, and the shwarma looked amazing. Coming back soon to get that. Prices online were not accurate, I uploaded a photo of new prices.

Love love love the shawarma and falafel here! I try and stop anytime I’m in the area. Authentic as it gets!

Quailty and authenticity is not there any longer. Used to be the best place in the county. Falafel is trash. You get less meat in your shawarma each time you come now with no falafel.Bring the old cooks back!

Great food if you're looking for a nice quick bite. I got the shawarma & fries and everything was very fresh & hot. My only complaint is the place looks alittle run down and the prices are a tad steep for what you're getting.

I've only ordered for delivery (thanks to Omicron spreading like wildfire lately), but Max's Cafe has the best shawarma plate I've found in the DC area. They don't just cut up some tomato and cucumber and call it a day!Max offers fantastic sumac onion, red and green cabbage, Turkish onion, Israeli salad and pickles, amba, red and green charif... and more. The meat is what I would call standard quality, but the fresh ingredients of the salads and sauces, along with their outstanding flavors, are where the place really shines.I'll be coming here a lot more often in 2022.

Covid 19 effects noted. Food was good, slow service , could warm up the atmosphere. It was cafeteria style but not clean , menus is hard to read , needs to unclutter menus and restaurant. Cover unused furniture, or screen off , clean the floor, brighten up the room it is not conducive to a good eating experience. Schwarma was good soup good but 30 minutes to get a bowl of soup?Very noisy . Poor eating environment. Would be better if you take pride in your space as well as the food.

Best shwarmas ever! You add in your pita from a variety of salads! So delicious! They have a complimentary falafel, yum!

Who Me?

First timer here. The cashier didn't explain the shwarma situation to me before I sat for 15min confused about where my food was. I went to ask, but they had gotten busy. I dunno. After I figured it out for myself, it was obvious but I wasn't very pleased. It was turkey meat and it didn't go very well with the ingredients. The burgers were barely passable as food goes. The knish was fine.

Note: this was during covid so there are far fewer people in there than usual so my experience is likely different than yours will beI went there with my sister to hang out, she had a shawarma (heaven inside of bread) and I had just a Snapple (i had lunch earlier and was stuffed)Everything went very smoothly from ordering food at the register, my sister customizing her shawarma, and finding a booth to sit at.n/n would go again

Get the shawarma. Period.

Shawerma is hands down the best on the east coast. The decor is drab, the lighting lacking, but the service is good. Skip the fries and order the densest shawerma ever.

Food was really fresh, great prices, generous portions! The place itself is a bit rundown, but I'd go again happily!
