Great place for breakfast. Had kelibas and potatoes. The best breakfast so far on our trip to Bangor. Would definitely visit this restaurant if we ever get up this way.

We don't go out for breakfast often anymore but when we do, this is always our first choice. The people are friendly and welcoming, and they remember us even if it's been a while. The food is always fresh and delicious and we leave happy and full every time. It's in a great place too. If you like people watching while having a hot meal, this is the place for you.
Highly recommend their grilled muffins. I usually take one to go lol
Their Eggs Benedict is amazing
I love the home fries and pancakes too. Never a bad experience in 4 years.

We go to breakfast here weekly. The food and prices are unmatched. Our servers are always friendly and know us by name. If you're looking for a great breakfast, lunch or dessert, and are in Augusta, stop by.

This diner, located in downtown Augusta, is a favorite of regulars and was a pleasant discovery for we out of towners as well. The food was nice - diner fare. I went with the meatloaf and it was good - definitely stick to your ribs type of food and lots of it. The service was great. The atmosphere is dineresque, old downtown - it was awesome. You could feel the history here and it was incredible.

Loves my stop for breakfast. Was delighted to see kielbasa on the meat choice for breakfast and rye bread that satisfied the 1/8th Polish in me. Atmosphere was nice with the locals chatting and the bathrooms were super clean and the staff were a pleasure to be waited on by.

I want to like this place and maybe they are short on experienced cooks, bit today was a miss.
My grilled English muffin was soggy rather than crisp, the homefries were barely cooked and crumbly. I ordered the loaded omelet and half of it was completely empty, just egg, and the bacon in it was barely cooked. :/ My friend's eggs over easy were nicely done and her bacon was cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere is super loud, they would do well to add some noise deafening to the ceiling or walls to help tone it down. There are too many tables packed into the small space.
$32 for two very basic breakfasts was a bit much for the portions and quality that we received. I hope this experience was a fluke.

Downtown Diner is located on Water St in Augusta in the heart of downtown. It is open for breakfast on Sundays and breakfast and lunch other days. The wait staff seemed experienced. Breakfast was good and reasonable in price. There is not a lot of parking but I was happy to walk around. Check it out!

To be fair, the iron man challenge was happening on the day we went for breakfast so service wasn't the best. It was insanely busy, we walked in and no seats at all available except at the bar so we waited. There was only two waitresses on, one was friendly, one seem robotic not a lot of personality. Parking on a normal day there's street parking out front or out back. Free street parking. They have nice decor, old photos of the town through the years on the walls. The bathroom was trashed but again it was the iron man race. They probably should have had more staff on that morning. It's your basic breakfast restaurant that offers lunch as well on normal days. The menu doesn't have a lot to choose from on the breakfast side of the menu but food was good.

My husband had the maine breakfast which was two eggs, sausage and pancakes. If you like pancakes this is the place to go. The pancakes are as big as your head. He enjoyed them very much. I had breakfast bowl, I personally like food burnt because I like the taste but the home fries were burnt and others probably wouldn't have liked it. I got a side can corn beef hash. It was absolutely delicious but beware its out of a can and they tell you that upfront so at least they are honest. Still was convenient and good. Prices here are fair for the breakfast but the sides are really expensive. I wasn't overly impressed but maybe on a different day it would have been better, I'll still return for another try. Food was good though.

Overall, 3 stars! <3
