The reviews looked awesome so we stopped in for breakfast while visiting the area for a wedding. Staff was very rude for no reason, told us to wait in a narrow hallway and then continuously yelled at us for standing there and blocking the dishwasher from bussing dishes. The service was pretty fast but the food was mediocre. My son's pancake was so burned we couldn't even cut it up for him, my husband got french toast that was basically just thick bread, no cinnamon or vanilla flavoring. Our cups and mugs were so soapy we could taste soap. I put some of my water in my baby's cup and she shook it and you could see soap bubbles.

Great breakfast. Nice little spot, service was fantastic. A bit disappointed to be in Maine and have fake syrup on the table (REAL syrup is an option, but I wasn't aware until after I'd already finished) but everything else was fantastic.

Fabulous! My husband and I stopped both going to and coming from our vacation. Delicious food and friendly, attentive people. The breads and pastries are all made locally and are terrific. Special shout out for the cinnamon rolls!

Downtown Diner has been a family favorite for YEARS now! The best local breakfast and diner experience. The owner is such a sweet and hard working woman, and the cook is a friend of ours. Would give more stars if I could!!

Downtown Diner is a favorite of both locals and visitors! Delicious homestyle fare and always friendly and prompt service. The dining area is cozy and comfortable, with seating by the big front windows, at the counter, or at tables. The prints of historic Augusta and the restored stained glass add to the nostalgic vibe that reflects the character of the city. Prices are good, usually seats available, and there are gf options.

We had to wait a while on Sunday morning, but it was worth the wait! I had the Maine breakfast, and everything was just what I wanted. The pancakes are huge and the sausage has got a little kick to it. The waitresses are sweethearts, I was very surprised at the amount of food that was pumped out of that kitchen and everybody looked like they were having a fantastic meal. My wife got the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and she said it was like nothing but perfect. Parking was easy in the back lot. If you get a chance you need to go here!

Great place for breakfast. Had kelibas and potatoes. The best breakfast so far on our trip to Bangor. Would definitely visit this restaurant if we ever get up this way.
