We stopped at Red Barn as a rest stop during our drive from Bar Harbor to Boston, and we’re so glad we did! Ordering online was super easy, and our food was ready right when we arrived. The atmosphere was wonderful—casual, welcoming, and full of charm—with plenty of seating options both inside and out. The weather was beautiful, so we enjoyed our meal outside under an umbrella.
The lobster roll was absolutely fantastic—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and simply delicious. You could really taste the quality and care that went into it.
We especially loved how the owners honor both veterans and fur babies—it really speaks to the heart of the place. We originally found Red Barn through a quick Google search for places near Augusta, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The service was great, the food was top-notch, and the experience exceeded our expectations.
Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Red Barn is hands-down the most family-friendly spot around! I have two little ones (ages 2 and 4), and it’s the first place I’ve truly felt welcomed as a parent. The staff are so kind, the food is delicious and comes out fast (a lifesaver with toddlers!), and the prices are super reasonable; perfect for a mama on a budget. You can tell they genuinely care about families and the community. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a meal, it’s always a positive, supportive, kid-friendly experience. We’ll definitely be back again and again! ❤️👨👩👧👧🍗

Good food, but getting very pricey. They used to be our go-to location for fried clams, but no more due to the price.
