We arrived at The Tarratine at 5:45, ordered at 6:10 and didn't receive our food until 7:55. Anybody who ordered steak well done received it medium done, and everything else tasted like it had been under a food warmer. The only thing good about our experience was the waitress.

I'm going to guess that whoever owns this place is more interested in milking it for cash than for creating a special dining experience. The service is meh, but that's common everywhere nowadays. The food is hit-or-miss, some dishes were good, some average, none were great, none were bad. The drinks were the only part of the evening that was exceptional. Overall, not an acceptable price-performer.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience here at this restaurant. I completely forgot that they had complimentary valet parking, so I parked a distance and we ended up walking. If there was one criticism I could make, it would be that the music being played did not fit the atmosphere.

The service was top notch. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The decor was in line with the building itself, which is a renovated private club from the 1800s. The cocktails were unique and delicious. The food was traditional fare, but very well prepared. It was our second visit, and we'll definitely be back.

Very reasonably priced fine dining option in Bangor. We spent $100 for 2 people. Quite, romantic environment, wonderful service and food.

A wonderful way to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. Everything was absolutely perfect. The service was impeccable and started with the doorman, then a coat check attendant, then an attentive hostess and a polished server. The food was lovely and well plated, from the Crabcakes, Salmon to the Coq au Vin. Also a nice cocktail list. Enjoy!

Our meals were delicious! The Coq au vin was tender and wonderfully spiced. My husband really enjoyed his fillet. We both loved the chocolate raspberry creme brulee...smooth and chocolatey! The perfect ending to a delicious meal! Very welcoming and attentive staff - not rushing us - but responsive. Great job wait staff and chefs!

I took my wife there for our third anniversary and it was amazing. Our server Kelsey was a delight and she share some information about the building and some of its history. Definitely will be one of our places that we frequent when we want to treat ourselves.

We ended up here on a whim and it turned out to be a lucky choice. Lovely old mansion style building with a nice upstairs bar, game room and billiards room. Apparently there is also a rooftop bar in the summer but not so much in January in Maine. The main floor has a bar and some comfortable rooms which are well decorated. The staff is personable, efficient and professional. The menu is a little dated but everything is well prepared with good quality ingredients. It can be a tough spot to find parking so the valet parking is appreciated. A great date spot. Will come again.

I always love going to the Tarantine for special occasions but I think the food was a little on the decline by the time we ate. Caesar salad was awful and tasted it all night. The Scallops and Risotto was like eating cinnamon cream of wheat. I've had that dish there before and it's always perfect. Anyway service is fantastic. Atmosphere is lovely.

We've dined at the Tarratine many times over the years since we moved to Maine and the food, service and atmosphere can't be beat. Thank you for yet another wonderful evening.

We've been to Tarratine a handful of times. Unfortunately this time wasn't this greatest. The server was fantastic but the food was not on par. There really wasn't anything special about the $85 per person meal. The co que vin was overcooked, the potatoes were cold and bland, the mushroom risotto had no flavor. The salad was had no dressing. The "champagne" creme brulee had pop rocks on top of it which was fun. Everyone at the table that had the steak and crab cakes said they were very good. The drinks were delicious.

Risotto was runny. 1st Caesar didn't have any dressing, the replacement had dressing but was terrible. Tasted like a Caesar you get at the pizza shop. Crab cakes were good. Butternut squash soup was more like a porridge. Potatoes were bland.
