We have been vacationing for a while and I ran out of tea. I saw Bar Harbor Tea Company and immediately went to find a nice loose leaf Jasmine Green tea instead of the grocery store bags of powder. They had what I was looking for:
“Finest Jasmine Pearls Green Tea” $39/4oz
A treat for myself I thought as the box touted high quality…
Sure the taste was fine, definitely had the jasmine aroma.
But this is NOT a quality green tea AT ALL. They were balls of the stems/sticks no leafs, actually you could see on some steeped stems where they harvested the leaves for the actual teas. Extremely disappointed and I feel duped.
We warned you are not buying quality tea for the high prices Bar Harbor Tea Company charges. SHAME.
Cute little store with amazing selection of teas and designer mugs. Smells amazing inside. Got blueberry fruit and cranberry teas.
A bit expensive, but good products.
We stopped in here while vacationing in the area. We purchased the Wild Maine Blueberry and the Down East Breakfast Blend teas.
During the initial purchase, I thought the price was a bit steep, but Wife wanted it, and we were on vacation, so we splurged. Once I tried the teas, I realized it is worth it. I like it and don't even need to put any sugar into it.
The lady that served us was friendly and kind. There are lots of tea drinking options here.
It is a nice little place...
I am a coffee drinker and am always hesitant to drink tea. This is delicious tea!!ordered the sampler and am ordering more as gifts and for myself!!!
Such good cranberry tea, and the woman who worked there was SO kind while I took my time. It was an adorable shop and a wonderful place to stop in as a tea person.
We made two attempts to go there but both times it was closed. However, we came before 5 a.m., the closing time indicated on their website... Very disappointed because the cups looked really nice.

The blueberry loose tea is out of this world!
My favorite tea store and friendly staff

I don't know if "tea-aholic" is a word, but I am most definitely a tea drinker. Anyway, I kinda feel like I've been living under a rock, because I had not officially set foot in here until the evening of November 24, 2023. This place has tea...No kidding! I had the pleasure of discovering the Downeast Breakfast Blend and New England Maple, two flavors I have got to get more of, because they are simply delightful. Although I think next time I might be adventurous and try the vanilla rooibos. Anyway, if you love tea or know someone who does, come visit the Bar Harbor Tea Company and see what's brewing.
Cute little tea shop with a LOT of their own local blends. Picked up a maple black tea and it seemed weak at first, so I let it brew for twice as long as I would for normal black tea, and the maple flavor bloomed beautifully without the tea getting bitter. Just a variety that likes a longer brew!
I hate to give small businesses bad reviews, which is why this is still a very generous rating given the taste of the tea, but I just wasn't very impressed. I bought a citrus earl grey from them and it was terribly weak, not potent at all, and I can really only taste the citrus and maybe just regular black tea, not earl grey. I've heard their blueberry tea and other specialized teas are great, so just get that, their regular black teas (at least from this one experience with them) appear to be mediocre and overpriced. Also WAY too expensive, which I get, a lot of their customers are probably tourists.
In a word, don't! If you at all enjoy tea, you won't like this. When we went into the business, I was rather surprised that they were not offering samples of their product. After I got home and opened the ridiculously priced 1 oz. ($4.99) of their signature product blueberry tea, I found why. After three times of making the tea, I discovered that you cannot get the tea strong enough, there is not enough sugar to enhance the non-existent flavor of either the tea or the blueberries, and for a tea company the bag the tea came in was not resealable in any way. It's a nice idea - mixing blueberry flavor with a good black tea, but the execution is subpar at best. Frankly, go buy a 20 pack of Twinings Lady Jane Grey tea. It actually has flavor and black tea. I was tempted to buy a larger amount. I'm very glad I didn't.
Really cool tea shop, although overpriced. They have an extensive tea cup collection, but they cost around $40. A lot of their items would make good gifts.
