“You must eat here! The atmosphere is lovely and laid back. The drinks (and mocktails) are wonderful. The food... the food is fantastic! You can't go wrong with the apps, but the Dilly Pickled Veg is the perfect little zippy snack while you wait for your dinner. The entire dinner menu is truly inspired. The bang bang fried chicken is always a personal go to... but I opted for the Crab BLT tonight and was blown away! My hubby had the Lamb Shwarma and practically licked his plate... the pita alone was a light, fluffy delight. If you order the fries, which you most certainly should, get the garlic aioli... you'll thank me later, it's also good with the lamb. ;)”

“We tried Royal Indian for the first time one month ago. We had the butter chicken, butter lobster, naan, and lamb korma. It was our first time eating Indian food from a restaurant and we were very pleased with our meals! The entrees were very filling and some of the best food we’ve eaten in bar harbor. The staff were all super friendly and quick. We’re now using this as our go to takeout order spot!”

“We had the best time and best food here! My sister and I and our families and my two pups all ate dinner here on August 16th, 2024. Our service was excellent and the food was SO good. My pups were greeted and given a bowl of water and enjoyed the smoked turkey off dog menu too! Solid selection of local beers and nice variety of cocktails to choose from too. I would highly recommend checking this place out. There’s also an ice cream shop right next door, if you happen to not be too stuffed after your meal!”

“This was our last day in Bar Harbor and we sure picked the right restaurant to end our trip. Justin was our server and he was very friendly, explained the menu, specials and prices for lobster. The oysters were so fresh, caught just 3 miles away. Everything we had was on point. Highly recommend and we will be back!”

“We had a mess up on the pizza yesterday but this place came good on it plus more!!! Also the pizza was absolutely delicious a family of five (out of two pizzas) only had two slices left. “Day one. Lobster roll, clam chowder and a great cup of coffee. Everything freshly made and delicious. Came back everyday, for a week to try the morning sweets. The shop has very good quality retail items, presented without clutter. A lovely place where we will return to again. From Oregon.”

“Janice was recommended to us by our wedding planner for our July 2021 wedding. Her list of flavors is long and believe me, you could spend all day trying various combinations. For our tasting, every single slice we tasted was moist and amazing. We ended up getting a chocolate and yellow cake with peanut butter mouse and chocolate ganache filling. Never have I ever had something so rich, moist, and somehow light at the same time. For our frosting, I strongly dislike any traditional frostings. Janice suggested a whipped cream frosting thankfully. She provided us with a traditional looking 4 tier wedding cake with flowers (made by her out of merengue) cascading down the side. It was gorgeous! My sister who is a chef was impressed with the presentation, knowing that it was a whipped cream frosting which can be harder to work with. And believe me, this was the best cake I have ever had. 6 days later and it has retained all its flavor and moisture. I don’t seen how we will be able to make it to our first wedding anniversary with that in the freezer. I can’t stop thinking about how good the cake is. You will not be disappointed if you get your cake here!”

The service is efficient and friendly, the sandwiches are substantial and come at a reasonable price, and they also have a lobster roll that is one of the better values in town. One of the nicest owners you’ll find in a small business as well!”

“It's an interesting spot. Nice view of the harbor, good for people watching. It's a big place. We ate inside. I'll say, out waiter, I believe his name is Erman, very good waiter. Ok, so drinks we had a Tullamore Dew Old Fashioned. I think it was called an Irish Old Fashioned? Partner ordered a margarita. Both were pretty good. Appetizers, Poutine and Lobster salad. Both were really good. For entrees, we got the Shirt Rib and a Steak. Short Rib was pretty good. Steak was good but a tad over cooked. All in all good spot service and a filling meal.”

“Nice place with very vibrant atmosphere. Very few vegetarian options , the quinoa burger was not available, but salads and hummus plate were good. Other members in our group had fish n chip and chicken salad , and they loved it. Would be good place for sea food lovers. They have some draft beers which are also nice. Overall a good experience in a prime bar harbor downtown.”

Having dined at Side Street in the past I already recommend this establishment to my clients traveling to Acadia for good food and adventure. But now that I have worked alongside their staff what an amazing restaurant! Attentive, kind, welcoming, are just a few words I’d use to describe Side Street and her Crew. They truly have the Bar Harbor vibe perfected! You won’t be disappointed you visited! Great food, great service, fun and wonderful atmosphere! Can’t wait to come back!”

“As a local, Pats Bar Harbor is my go to for fresh made and delicious comfort food. They never disappoint and I especially like that they have my favorite New Zealand wine at a reasonable (not tourist) price. They are open every day so it’s easy to be spontaneous when craving Pats food. I’m anxious to try their Jamaican inspired menu but it’s a challenge to stay away from their calzones, pizza, sandwiches and pasta. Thanks Pats for always being so dependable in every way. ❤️”

“I was in town to photograph the NYE party at Side Street Cafe for the evening. My second photographer and I decided to treat ourselves to a reservation at McKays for dinner before we had to be to work and I can confidently say it was a great choice as usual! We both sipped on a delicious Hibiscus 75 (new favorite??). Our server was attentive, kind, and soft spoken. We thoroughly enjoyed his service! For dinner I had the seafood risotto and OH MY was that dish delicious!! Everything was cooked perfectly and I cannot wait to go back again.”
