“We wanted ice cream after hiking Mt Acadia and this was the closest. They had an outdoor seating area which was nice to sit with our dog. We both had ginger. Price was fair.”
“A local over in Bar Harbor encouraged us to visit this place on the "quiet side" of the island. We didn't have reservations and they were full, but the hostess and the bartender were as nice as could be and took care of us at the bar. We started with the best popovers we've ever had, huge, fluffy and accompanied by soft butter and fresh Maine strawberry and wild blueberry jam, respectively. My wife enjoyed tremendous fish tacos and I had the lobster popovers. Our food was incredible and Kip, our bartender, was incredibly pleasant and helpful. The view from the restaurant is fantastic as is the food and the staff.”
“This is a must do if you are visiting Acadia! Make sure to book a reservation preferably for the outdoor seating on a good summer day way in advance. The prices and portions aren't the best however part of the price comes with the amazing view of Acadia and Jordan Pond. The food is phenomenal though and the popovers are a classic! I got the lobster bisque which I cannot complain the taste was really good and there was a moderate amount of lobster. The service was also 10/10 they were very friendly and kind to our family. Overall the Jordan Pond House is a great time for a good meal and enjoy a long hike before or after your meal around the Jordan Pond!”
“They are open all year & have great service and food! Crystal is so kind! The food, espresso & canned drink options are tasty - I especially liked the numerous options.Vegetarian options: Veggie sausage optionKid-friendliness: They have donuts and caffeine free drinks”
“The "rice bowl," which doesn't _sound_ like much, is amazing -- four varieties of pickled/spiced veggies, jasmine rice, an egg, and a generous serving of pork, chicken, or tofu (I've tried the pork and tofu). I've had eggs benedict that was tops too, also the baked goods. Everything is done with a fresh creative edge. You're truly in good hands with this place.”
“Delicious drinks and food. The crepes are to die for and the lobster roll is top 10 in Bar Harbor! Stinks that there’s no seating, but the grab and go location isn’t bad.”
“Thanks Mike and Andre (and the other unnamed employees) We were in Bar Harbor for 3 nights: we ate dinner here twice and one lunch. We tried the whole fried clams: fantastic! Lobster, fried haddock, lobster, lobster stew and local beers. Super value and super fresh. All the employees were smiling and helpful. I highly recommend this place!!!!”
“One of my favorite dinners in Bar Harbor this trip, we enjoyed delicious food, amazing drinks, cozy ambiance, and very attentive service.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free friendly”
“Sweet staff members and incredible food. Chips and salsa are always good but theirs are amazing. Get the chicken burrito and you will be so impressed by the flavors.”
“I had the lasagna and it was tasty, served hot and was a good sized portion. The lasagna noodles are not served flat. So the presentation is unique. My wife had the sausage and peppers fettuccine. It was also delicious and served perfectly. Dave's cooking is just getting better and better. The atmosphere is very friendly. Thanks to Dave and his team for a great night out.Vegetarian options: The lasagna was vegetarian.Kid-friendliness: There were many families with children.”
“We felt so lucky to find this place and will truly miss it until we’re back in the area. We went for lunch and returned immediately the next day for dinner. Everything was outstanding, from the house made pickles on the delicious spicy chicken sandwich, to the dressing, pork belly, and crispy chicken on the wedge salad. The fish sandwich with perfectly seasoned slaw, and the biscuits with maple butter were also incredible. The fried chicken was some of the best we’ve ever had. On top of the special food, the owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. We spent a lot of time sitting at the bar chatting with one of the owners and overall enjoyed our visit so much. We will be talking about this place long after our trip.”
“Great pub with a killer beer list. Had an awesome conversation with the owner who put on the Ohio State vs Michigan game for me. Come here if you want good beer.”
“I'm not sure why this restaurant has gotten such average reviews. We went there for our anniversary dinner and the food was excellent. I had duck confit and it was amazing. We shared the whipped blueberry cheesecake and plan to go back again just for that. Highly recommend.”
“Love coming here. Great selection of food, even for vegetarian options. The food is delicious and the staff is so warm and friendly. The chai cider mock tail is so great!”
“The Soup Kitchen serves an excellent meal on Wednesday evenings beginning at 4:00p.m. We had a wonderful & tasty meal of spaghetti, turkey burger meatballs, sauce, garlic bread slices, salad, dessert, and water or coffee/tea to drink. The service is excellent. I understand a meal of roast turkey with all the fixin's is up next week. Sunday breakfast popovers will resume on Feb 1.The volunteers are great!”
“I don’t say this lightly, but I had the best damn cup of coffee I’ve ever had in my life at Everyday Joes. Get the Acadia blend! Our server heard me say I liked the coffee and provided 3 bags free of charge. Highly recommend!”
“This “sports bar” is doing some great things with the menu and food experiences. Great cheese steaks, whoopie pies, and drinks. Not your normal bar food at all. Nice atmosphere with decent parking (for south harbor). The staff here is friendly and professional. Only feedback I have is the single waiter/barkeep was over worked for even a slow Tuesday night, so if you’re in need of something you’ll have to be aggressive and wave them down. Enjoyed the meal!”
“Had our first pie yesterday and am now having leftovers for breakfast . Holy Wow! Pie perfection ❤️Substantial and flaky crust. Ordered over the phone and so friendly and helpful . Apple salted caramel is divine . Can’t wait to try the savory hand pies !”
“Fantastic breakfast and coffee spot. Loved everything we had there - so much that we went back multiple times while visiting. Staff was so friendly and helpful.Kid-friendliness: They were great with our large family and very kind!”
“My husband and I tried this bakery’s poppy and sesame seed sourdough loaf, and their morning buns and both are out-of-this-world delicious! The sourdough crust had a satisfying crunch and bite to it, whereas the interior was perfectly soft and moist. The morning buns had different textures throughout the layers and was a cross between a cinnamon roll, croissant, and cronut. I highly recommend both the sourdough and morning bun.The bakery is only open limited days a week, offer a limited (but very delicious) selection of items, and seem very popular with online orders placed in advance. The morning buns seemed most popular and are likely to sell out within the first hour of opening, so be sure to either place an online order or arrive very early to get morning buns!”
“Stopped there by chance leaving Acadia and looking for coffee and a snack. Had an amazing Curried chickpea smash with cucumber salad and arugula on rye. It was delicious, they have meat as well. I also had a dill potato salad which I enjoyed very much and a latte from Creative Coffee which is s right with them also yummy. We have noted it all to stop there in our next trip to Maine. Worth checking them out. Just a roadside stop with picnic tables outside (very nice ften the best places) and you must wear a mask to order at window.”
“You're going here for cocktails. Do they serve beer? Yes... But that's like ordering grilled cheese at a seafood place (nothing wrong with the beer selection though). Understand this, the place is busier than it looks and making great cocktails is an art. This isn't a beer slinging joint where a order is compete in 60 seconds. Be patient. You're likely on vacation anyway. If you want to see a professional mixologist/bartender/artist, go to the Cottage Street Pub. See Cassidy (dark hair, teal highlights). Enjoy her professionalism and appropriate amount of sass. Cassidy mixed up FANTASTIC cocktails for us Monday through Thursday (July 17-20,-2023) (yeah, you read that correctly, we went four nights in a row). Not only did she mix the cocktails, but she mixed up great tunes the entire time as well. Read all that again, don't waste your time on beer here, get the cocktails. Learn the bartender's name, it helps to grab their attention when they are herding 100 cats. Hope you get Cassidy as your professional bartender! I'm sure the others are great, too.”
“Really nice fresh ingredients used to create delicious Food. Rich complex flavors and very satisfying on a winter's day. Fair pricing for the complexity of the dishes. We will definitely be back.”
“This place was great. Service was really good. Lobster rolls were tasty and seemed to have a good amount of meat although I’m not an expert on lobster rolls so take It with a grain of salt! Blueberry pie with ice cream hit the spot at the end of the meal.Atmosphere was also nice, with a cool vibe. The only reason for the 4 star for food is due to the prices being just a bit too high. $38 for the lobster roll with very little fries seemed off. Total bill was $108 for two lobster rolls, no apps, one cocktail, one pie, one coffee seems high for lunch. Will still be back the next time we’re in town!”
“Side Street Café is our favorite place to eat in Bar Harbor. This cafe has really great vibes and the service staff is always attentive and friendly. Their cocktails and mocktails are all superb and the "Born to Rum" cocktail is easily the best rum cocktail I've ever had. My wife and I really appreciate that Side Street Café offers a number of vegetarian and vegan options. These can be hard to come by at other restaurants in the area, but the veggie options here are to-die-for! We always get the Brussel sprouts starter. The maple bourbon glaze is the perfect balance of savory and sweet. We've had the hummus platter a few times and love it as a healthy starter before the meal. My recent go-to has been the Lean Machine veggie burger with a side of the house fries. The fries have a delicious salty seasoning and the burger features a delicious earthy flavor that balances well with the sweet spice of the mustard and the creaminess of the avocado. My wife loves the Emilia wrap. The hummus and basil pesto blend nicely with the fresh vegetables which also contribute to a very aesthetic, colorful meal. Whether you're sitting inside or out on the patio, the Side Street Café is the perfect way to celebrate a successful hike, bike ride, or cap off a day of shopping. If you haven't been to this Bar Harbor staple, you need to add it to your list.”
“The food and drinks were great! I had the verde taco which was one of the best tacos I've ever had, and a decaf Choco-latte. I would have loved to get a little more food for the price, but the taste made it worthwhile. The place was fairly crowded but it was still possible to choose a table. The staff were friendly and fast. The ambiance is great and felt comfortable for us - lots of light, kind of cool but unpretentious, just a really nice vibe.”
“Ummm yes please- the most delicious brownies, blondies, and this delicious fresh fruit amazingness!!!! Thank you, Karen for sharing your talent with your fortunate customers!!!!”
“Hand down the best place in town pats pizza sucks 131 pizza you have to try the Mac daddy pizza!! it’s eat a Big Mac from McDonald but better!!! The bartender is also cute!!! Great atmosphere and a place to make firend!! Come on in!!!!”
“As a new traveler, this place never made me feel so welcomed to Bar Harbor and Maine. Excellent drinks and service, unmatched hospitality and love. If you are new to Bar Harbor, this should be your first stop.”
“This was the best lunch in town. Fantastic service fresh food and amazing staff! Feels very much like home. The take home packaging is adorable and they even offer drink ware for sale that is custom made.”
