Nice large restaurant with comfortable seating and a nice large bar. Good menu options with something for everyone. Ordered a mushroom tart, a house salad , and a burger. Everything was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Fast and friendly service. Loved it.

My wife and I spent our elopement dinner here after requiring a last minute pivot from our original wedding plans. Caroline and her team accommodated us on short notice with kindness and enthusiasm. We dined with our photographer and were graciously allowed to shoot within their new wine cellar as well. The food was fantastic (escargot in puff pastry was quite novel!) and the atmosphere, cozy. It was the perfect end to our perfect day and for them, we are grateful.

I think this is one of the best meals I’ve eaten all year. I travel quite a bit and at this point, I can’t say most of the meals I eat out, Michelin or otherwise, make any sort of impression on me (I know this is obnoxious - just bear with me) besides a feeling at the end of the meal that it was too much X or not enough Y to have been worth the money, travel, and time that goes into eating at “destination” restaurants. Brassiere LeBrun is a true gem though, and why I felt the need to write a review (and I hate writing reviews!) because if you’re in Acadia, you really should try to stop by.
The drinks - to be fair, I had a mocktail, and my dining companion, wine - were creative and well balanced, the bartenders unobtrusively attentive. The bread was crusty and soft and the butter was a surprise - soft, whipped, with a slight bit of garlic. We had oysters, fresh and from a neighbouring bay (thank you for the mesh cover for the lemon, these are the type of quiet details that make you realize the chef cares about your experience), followed by the lobster bisque. After eating bisque all over Maine during several trips, I thought I knew how good it could be - I was wrong. The lobster was cooked so thoughtfully, a compliment to the beautiful broth, and then on top was a playful lobster cracker that actually built more flavor into the dish - not a tasteless afterthought at all. For mains, we had the stuffed lobster and the scallops. The lobster was paired with crab and the broccoli rabe it came with added the perfect bite of slight bitterness that cut through the richness of the bernaise and the seafood, balancing out the plate; the fingerling potatoes were done “smashed,” helping to add some texture to the meal while also giving them a way to hold their crunch amidst the sauce (so delicious!). The scallops were perfectly cooked and again, with a perfect complement of greens and paved potato. For dessert, we had a poached pear with tuille, cream, and granola and it was one of the best poached pears I’ve ever had, anywhere, even in France.
The whole meal was so well done but so unpretentious and the atmosphere was very relaxed while still making you want to keep your elbows off the table. What a treat of a restaurant! I’ll be thinking about it for a while.

Brasserie Le Brun in Bar Harbor, Maine, delivered one of our most memorable dining experiences in New England. With a commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients from farmers’ markets, this brasserie ensures that each dish reflects the best of the season. We began with impeccably crafted cocktails that set the tone for an exceptional meal. Among our entrées, the pan-fired halibut with butternut squash purée, black garlic, Brussels sprouts, and fried kale was a standout in both flavor and presentation. The scallops meunière, accompanied by pave potato, watercress, and a brown butter, lemon, and caper sauce, were perfectly executed. The duck breast, served with confit duck leg, fig compote, lentils, and a beet and goat cheese purée, showcased a balance of rich and delicate flavors. The sides of mashed potatoes and gnocchi were also expertly prepared and worth every bite. If you’re in Bar Harbor and seeking an elevated dining experience with exceptional food and drinks, Brasserie Le Brun is a must-visit.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here and cannot recommend enough. We started with a half dozen oysters which were wonderfully clean, bright, and fresh. Some of the most delicious oysters we’ve had. For dinner she had the scallops and I had the filet. Both dishes were exquisite. The butterscotch creme brûlée was perfect, down to the candied hazelnuts on top. So happy we stopped by before leaving bar harbor. We will absolutely be back!

PLEASE PLEASE DO YOUR NEXT EVENT HERE

My Husband and I eloped in Acadia, and had a small group of people join us. We wanted to host a dinner to welcome everyone and thank them for coming. I had reached out to Brasserie LeBrun in April for an October wedding. They had a contract prepared so that we could rent their private wine cellar space.

As we got closer, their team confirmed the menu, food allergy accommodations and wine selection with us. Upon arrival into Bar Harbor, they met us the day prior to tour the space and allowed us to store our guest gifts at the restaurant, which was so kind.

Overall, I cannot begin to describe how great of an experience this was. The amount of care, detail and love that their team put into our event was so special. They went so far above and beyond what we expected.. One example: The created a specific tasting menu for our event that had our new name on it which was sweet enough, but then they even laminated a copy for us to save! Everything from writing our new name on the menu, accommodating every request we had, top tier service, incredible food and wine... end to end it was such a great time. Their team took such good care of us and our guests. Every single person commented on how delicious the food was. The space was beautiful and private, which was so nice. We didn't have to worry about a single thing. Caroline handled everything so beautifully and was so proactive. I could ramble on how great they were to us forever.

We'd get married again just to have another dinner here.

Drinks were great! The bone marrow was a surprisingly large and delicious hit. My steak frites was also very good and the gnocchi was very good.

We will start with the things this place did well. Patrick, our server, was phenomenal. The drinks were also. We had a combination of mixed drinks and wine, all of it very well done. Dessert was also great. If we had just come for drinks and dessert we would have been 100% happy. If we return here it will actually just be for drinks +/- dessert. We got the caviar, an ounce of Osetra. The caviar itself was good, the presentation was not. The potato pancake that accompanied it had no business being paired with caviar. It was heavy, fried and completely overpowered the delicate, nuanced flavor of the caviar there was no point in trying to eat it. We just ate our Osetra off the tip on our butter knives. My husband paid $44 for scallops that looked beautiful but were grossly overcooked and chewy. I can not complain about my short rib. It was flavorful and tender. This was a $150 dinner that actually cost $500. At this price point we expect consistent superiority so we do not recommend for anything other than going for an after dinner drink and maybe your dessert.

Came in on a Sunday, holiday weekend. Didn’t have a reservation but we were still able to get seated right away. Patrick was our server, he was AMAZING. Extremely kind and attentive. We ordered the bone marrow and kaluga cavier as starters, definitely worth it— especially the bone marrow. Steak frites and stuffed lobster for main entrees, everything was magnificent. Would come again for Patrick!

We were there to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Our dinner and wine were excellent. Our server was great, she was friendly and attentive. The hostess was aware of our anniversary as was our server and both wished us a happy anniversary. We even got a special chocolate ribbon with our desserts that said happy anniversary on them. We were very pleased with this restaurant and would highly recommend it.

The space was so inviting with the expansive bar and blue/cream with gold accent colors. Craft cocktails to start and an excellent wine by the glass selections. Local oysters were exceptional! We enjoyed tuna tartare with a quail egg as well. My wife had excellent halibut with butternut squash purée and I ate the bran into special served on rye berry risotto with king crab! Just Wow! Dessert was a poached pear on toasted almonds with sabayon.. I would come back for sure!

The service was amazing. There was no ambience. It is loud and open and loud. The French onion soup was just OK. The seasonal salad was amazing. The mushroom risotto was not worth ordering. The brussels sprouts were amazing. I am not sure how I feel about recommending this restaurant. I was disappointed.

Not very impressed overall. Tables too close. When serving the tables beside us the servers butt was pretty much on our table. Food was good but not over the top, disappointing based on price.
