Tldr: as an Asian, I’ve had instant noodles taste better than this $20 piece.
I normally only write positive reviews, but this is the worst ramen place I’ve been to. It’s no wonder that the most 2 recent reviews from customers with Asian last names also gave it 1-3 out of 5 stars.
The broth is just bland, and only had some taste after adding chili flakes from another dish.
The vegetarian meat is disgusting. It felt like paper cardboard that fell apart.
There was so much green onions. Honestly, how many uncle rogers video does one need to view to understand that green onions in East Asian cuisines are typically a garnish, not the main event?
Like others have mentioned, there’s no service, but the default is 20% tip. Had the food been better, it would have been fine.

The vegan options for dinner elsewhere on the island looked pretty uninspiring, so I went here and have no regrets. Had the broccolini and mapo tofu. The mapo tofu was a bit atypical, but delicious, and the greens were also good. Great for takeout, and I'm glad some of the revenue goes back to the community. Really appreciated finding this place. The food was very wholesome and you can taste the care. I was reluctant at first because I associate ramen with meat based broths but the broth here was rich and as complex as my emotions when I walked through the front door taking what I thought was a big risk, and realizing, with a beautiful steaming bowl below me, I was safe and made the right choice. We also have kids and the no fuss atmosphere was much appreciated.

Tldr: Seems like a trial restaurant. There's no server and small menu.
This is a no table service restaurant. Orders are placed online through QR code. The menu is limited and when we went at 5:30pm, most of the dishes were sold out. Of the dishes we did get, one had impossible meat, and the other meat loaf, which was different but not to our taste. Also there is no alcohol served here. Probably would not come again unless they get a more permanent menu and staff.

We love Cottage Street Ramen! Homemade noodles, super fresh ingredients, exploding with umami. Our most favorite bar harbor restaurant for date night or dinner with friends.

We all loved our ramen dishes. Love the seitan, daring chick’n and tofu. It is run by volunteers and all profits support open table MDI.

This is such a hidden gem with delicious ramen and serving a great cause. All proceeds go to helping feed the community. Don’t let the limited menu, ambience or service deter you from this quality experience that will make both you belly and your heart happy!
An amazing option for vegans! A little on the pricey side, but the portions are big and the food was delicious- so flavorful and fresh. The eating area was nothing special, but clean and plenty of seating. Wish we had time to go again before leaving town!

Overall great experience. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was clean and the food was great. You go in, get greeted by the chef, order off the QR code and the chef starts preparing the food. It is a self serve restaurant but very clean and organized. I tried the spicy shyou ramen which had the perfect amount of spice and the miso ramen which was deliciously savory. Everything on the menu is vegetarian and can easily be made vegan, plus all the profits go to charity for helping fight food insecurity. There is no forced 20% service fee like others have stated. It is an optional tip that goes to a good cause. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Everything on the menu is vegetarian and can easily be made vegan. We tried both the spicy shyou ramen and the miso ramen, both were fantastic. 100% of the profits go to fight food insecurity. I highly recommend for anyone who loves ramen. I’ve never gotten to go to a ramen restaurant and order anything I want due to being vegan so I was like a kid in a candy shop.
Been there yesterday. I hardly post any comments for restaurants. But this one is so haunting. Highly recommend to avoid. If they sold a bag of instant noodles and boiled water, it would be a better option for customers. Food is so novel for me. Probably some higher level of art I can't understand. At least the price is reaching some levels of artwork. They don't provide any service, but they charged 20% service fee. The most ironic point is they would donate all left food that customer can't finish to local farms to feed pigs. I think they should run a charity group instead of running restaurant.
