An honest review: Food is okay, noodles are hard to chew , broth is savory but very oily. There's no human service available, if you come be ready to scan a QR code and do everything over the phone because there's zero human interaction, you pick up your food and clean everything after leaving. Be also prepared to pay 18% tip for zero service and the hassle to scan and order everything online. Prices are slightly high but it's bar harbor. I appreciate the veggie option but you can do better guys. I won't even get into the aesthetics of the restaurant itself but I feel like you need to do a little better, your flavors are not bad but you could be an unforgettable experience if you work on it. You are unforgettable already but not on the good side, we left the place feeling like something was lacking big time.Dietary restrictions: VegetarianVegan

best food we had in bar harbor. lots of vegan options which are hard to find in town, especially off season! the bao buns were delicious and the seitan was just the right texture. thank you for the great dining experience.

Delicious ramen, especially the fried tofu. You order through a QR code and pick up when your order # is called. Loved the super-inclusive bathroom!!

Really nice fresh ingredients used to create delicious Food. Rich complex flavors and very satisfying on a winter's day. Fair pricing for the complexity of the dishes. We will definitely be back.

Didn't realize it was vegetarian and vegan only, but don't let that scare you off. Great flavors and some of the best shishito peppers I've ever had. The only thing a little off is the fact that there is no waiter or counter to order from, you seat yourself, order from a QR code and bus the tables yourself, but even with that, I recommend it. Will be back again while I'm in Bar Harbor.

This is a gem! Great addition to Bar Harbor — some of the best ramen I’ve had.

Delicious healthy food! Loved the reusable napkins and compost bin. Only thing that could have been better was if the ramen was hotter, but I would still highly recommend.

Definitely the best meal we had in Bar Harbor. Both ramen bowls were delicious and had strong umami taste. The XO sauce one had a delicious smokey flavor and the fall curry was more creamy taste, similar to Japanese curry sauce. The shishito peppers were very addictive. Each ingredient was fresh and prepped perfectly. Maybe one feedback is I wished the broth was a tad hotter in temperature, but everything else was perfect. My husband who doesn’t go for vegetarian food typically had no issue here.

I needed to post a review of Cottage Street Ramen. No, it's not the cottage of St. Ramen, patron saint of noodle soup lovers. Or is it?!?So we're in a tiny, touristy (both negative predictors of good food) town of Bar Harbor, (pop. 5089), so I had low expectations of getting decent ramen, much less good vegetarian ramen. Very low.But Lo and behold... (get it? Low expectations, lo and behold? No? No one? OK. Let's move on). Holy cow... so to speak. Cottage Street Ramen has amazing vegetarian and vegan ramen. In Bar Harbor, Maine, of all places. We ordered Spicy Mushroom Miso Ramen, Vegan XO Ramen, and Rich Shoyu Ramen. And all of them were so amazing. To start, the presentation is beautiful, a treat for the eyes, topped with grilled and fresh ingredients and fried tofu, and the Rich Shoyu has generous amounts of sliced grilled garlic which is sweet and mellow. I highly recommend adding boo choy and scallions when you order. lit adds a few cents to the cost, but so much flavor; they grill the bok choy and it's super yummy. All three broths are all so flavorful, rich and full of umami. And while the whole wheat ramen noodle isn't quite as glutinous (chewy) as white ramen noodles, it's really good, and a sight more wholesome! We're here a few more days, so before we leave, we may just have to go back another time.... or two! There is no sit down service, and you have to bus your own table when you're done, but for this level of goodness in this place, it's totally worth it.Also they have no hot sauce, only house-made chili oil, so if you like it spicy like I do, bring your own hot sauce.Vegetarian options: All vegetarian, many vegan options.

This is a great option for vegans in Bar Harbor. I appreciate that profits go to support Open Table MDI. Be aware that if you dine in, you have to be able to order using a QR code; there is no table service. The food is great and the menu is mostly vegan. My favorite was the bao buns. Also tried the spicy mushroom miso ramen and the shishito peppers which were excellent, and a yuzu curd-filled donut that was on special and was amazing. It's located on the less-busy end of Cottage St so I easily found parking around dinnertime (but I'm sure that depends on what time of year you are here). My mouth is watering again thinking about that donut... Updated from previous review on 2023-10-03
