I went in excited for a delicious sandwich…. As I was next in line and asking the owner for a recommendation, she cut me off to take orders outside. When she returned, I ordered a Turkey Rachel, which was served to me very quickly… because it wasn’t toasted! I paid $17 for a turkey sandwich that I barely ate. Wouldn’t go back.

Best place to get lunch before heading into Acadia! Service is super fast and all the food is delicious. Try the ginger sesame chicken wrap and the Thanksgiving sandwich, and don't forget a brownie or two!

So nice we had to try it twice! Really enjoyed our bag lunches from here, sometimes it’s nice to just have a simple sandwich and chips when everything else in the area is fancy. The staff was great, sandwiches fantastic, and definitely our favorite meals during our trip! Make sure to try the blueberry pie!

The biggest tourist trap in this town.

Picked up the quiche on takeout. Couldn’t even force it down. Worst ever.

Very over priced, however that is not the worst of it. They have a “day after Thanksgiving” sandwich. I ordered 2 sandwiches with just turkey and dressing which I received. Two days later I went back and ordered the same sandwich. The person at the counter told me that I could not have the sandwich that way as it must have cranberry, cheese etc on it. I advised him that I had it with just turkey and dressing the other day to which he replied “ I highly doubt it” implying that I was lying to him. Needless to say, I could not believe that an employee of any service establishment would ever imply that a customer was lying. If you value good customer service, pass them by.

The food was fantastic! Great for something quick and on the go, and located next to the park which is a great spot for eating the food. The service was quick and amazing. I got the hot buttered lobster roll and the meat was so fresh, not fishy or chewy at all.

Our favorite place to grab lunch on our trip to Bar Harbor! We couldn’t get over how much we loved the clam chowder — perfectly creamy. And the blueberry pie was out of this world. Hot butter lobster roll was the way to go for us, and we made it a priority to grab lunch here as much as we could!

A hot dog bun with some pieces of lobster on it nowhere to sit nowhere to eat and no coupons or discounts given for first responders. Average at best. Had the special with the blueberry pie and lobster roll and also ordered some clam chowder three people to eat was almost $100. Workers not very friendly.

The best Rueben sandwich I’ve ever had. I walked in wanting something other than lobster, fish and chips or clam chowder…blown away!

we got the Cuban several times. it was great. I had the lobster soup, phenomenal! my husband said the clam chowder was good too. I had the lobster roll with mayo. very good as well. not cheap but good. we tried subs a couple other places, not as good.

We love Downeast Deli and are a return customer! It’s a great place to stop in and pick up a take out sandwich and chips. We have been in three times this stay in Bar Harbor. We can recommend the ham/cheese, chicken salad and tuna salad sandwiches. They were delicious! The service was friendly and very quick.
