This place has a few vegan options with unique things other than the typical vegan burger. I really enjoyed the butternut squash cakes. They were served with wild rice, kale, and onion. You have to ask for no yogurt sauce to make this dish vegan, otherwise it is vegetarian.

We randomly picked Gaylyns from many restaurants in town. We walked in to its quiet cozy atmosphere and were escorted upstairs to an open dining room overlooking the harbor and main street. What a view. Great food, great service and a wonderfully rich bar menu. The Beehive is a must for rye bourbon lovers. We’re from New Orleans and know great food. Stop in for sure.

Amazing restaurant right at Bar Harbor waterfront!! Great food! The lobster roll, pasta Galyn & steak were all great!!! The service was outstanding!! Olivia went above & beyond to answer our question about the food & wine list!! We’ll definitely be back!

The food was very good, the service was excellent , the place is well maintained and beautiful, and I loved the thoughtful touch of giving us a postcard of the restaurant. We recommend it.

Hidden gem among tourist eateries! Lobster enchiladas had a wonderful sauce. Bacon wrapped scallops were just the right amount. View and interior spectacular and classy. Lexie gave us exemplary service! We hope to return. French Chardonnay was lovely.

We really enjoyed this place. The view on the second floor was perfect. We loved our food and the service was great. It was the perfect place for my wife and I to get away and have some quiet time alone and just relax.

They provide a decent lunch lobster roll with fries and slaw.

We popped in for lunch after a long kayak excursion and had a beautiful experience! Service was great, food was tasty, and the view of the harbor was the final touch. My wife and I shared the lobster bisque, Cajun shrimp, and the butternut squash cakes. Everything was exquisite! It’s no wonder why this place is a staple in bar harbor.

Had a fantastic lunch for 2 overlooking Bar Harbor at 1:15pm after the lunch rush. Awesome seafood including local oysters, crab cakes and a bouillabaisse that had just enough spice. Blueberry crisp for dessert was the perfect finale!

Not many vegan options but staff was very accommodating. Started with nice simple garden salad. Both the cauliflower piccata and squash cakes were very good. Service was excellent. Had a nice table upstairs with a great view of the harbor.

LOCATION is right on the main drag, across from Agamont Park in Bar Harbor. We took in the sunset, then found this place kind of by accident. There is ample parking, but if you’re staying in the area it’s walkable from any of the Bar Harbor inns.

MENU had seafood and non-seafood options. Plenty of vegetarian options (we got the squash cakes, which had sides of kale, pickled onions, and wild rice. The lobster bisque was good, as was the cod plate, which was chock full of vegetable sides. Food was overall excellent, and just what we were in the mood for.

ATMOSPHERE was fine. We ended up in a windowless second floor room, but the decor was pleasant enough, and the restaurant was quiet enough to enjoy a conversation

SERVICE was good enough. We were initially looking at a longer wait, but got seated right away on a busy Saturday night. (My only point off was the waitstaff cologne was too strong and clashed with the food whenever they came around to ask about our meal.)

Would definitely go again.

Vegetarian options: The vegetarian and gluten free options are clearly labeled. We don’t need these options, but we’re pleasantly surprised at the menu for having them.

What a lovely restaurant! Loved the atmosphere, the staff, the food. The food was outstanding - mussels, chowder, roasted beets, crab cakes. We had a seat by the front window with the pouring rain outside. It was cozy and delightful. Can't wait to come back!

The food was so good I loved the music and it was just so classy and I think this is how every restaurant should be like the servers where so nice they gave us so much time to think and we got our food right after we ordered it.
