Patti’s lobster rolls are the best in Maine! On a weekend trip to Acadia, I stumbled upon the Happy Clam Shack and couldn’t have been happier with my experience. Patti operates a sea-to-table business and hand-picks her lobster meat every morning. Her lobster rolls are made to the highest quality possible and her Happy Clam Shack creates such a warm & welcoming environment for all travelers. Don’t pass by this hidden gem!

Had the mini lobster roll, lobster bisque and blueberry pie—all very delicious! They were very kind — gave a treat for our puppy and a second piece of pie since the first was small. A quaint place —Great outdoor seating

It was ok. My fiancé got a lobster roll he liked and I got the cheeseburger because I’m not a seafood person. The pie was good but I don’t think it was really worth $70.

The best lobster I've ever had. This was a 3 1/2 pound soft shell beauty! Yes, soft shell; super easy to open. So good the first time we came back the next day.
And if you have Celiac, they also serve incredible GF clam chowder and corn chowder with chunks of lobster. Have it all!
Oh... and the ladies taking care of you are sweethearts!
Dietary restrictions: GF soups (and of course the seafood).
Kid-friendliness: Kids can run around. They have corn hole.

We were in the mood for lobster rolls, and couldn’t decide between here and another place 4 miles down the road, and decided to try here first - buying into the hype about awesome prices, huge portions, and stellar customer service from other previous reviews. Stopped in at 3 pm on a Wednesday afternoon on our way back from Acadia.
Price-wise: at least today, I would not say the price for lobster rolls was cheaper than the place up the road. There’s a sign posted here asking that we don’t post menu photos online so I won’t, but I WILL say that a regular lobster roll w/ coleslaw and chips OR a mini-lobster roll (half-sized) with a cup of chowder or bisque (and chips) were the same price here - and the same price as the most expensive “house special lobster roll” down the road (a standard hot or cold lobster roll is a couple dollars LESS there).
I bought the mini-lobster roll with bisque.
Flavor-wise: it was good, but nothing special. Warm toasted roll filled with a very generous portion of lobster meat and minimal (if any) mayo; no other seasonings I could detect. Lobster tasted fresh. Bisque was hot and creamy, also with generous chunks of lobster in it; a package of oyster crackers was included. The “chips” were a bag of Lay’s potato chips. In contrast: the “house special lobster roll” down the road is made with a lemon garlic aioli, which really compliments the lobster - and comes with fresh handmade chips instead of pre-packaged ones.
Service: today was nothing special. Lady behind the counter was polite/professional, but offered no suggestions/help and wasn’t particularly friendly. Around 3:30 (while we were eating) they put a sign out front saying that they were closing at 4 pm today because of a staffing shortage. So I guess as other reviewers have observed: you may not get service at all if you come at an unlucky time.
The mini-lobster roll here didn’t quite scratch our itch, so we drove 4 miles down the road to try the “house special lobster roll” at the other place, and were much happier with that meal, service, and everything.

The lobster roll was jam packed and delicious. And their clams were very reasonably priced at $6/lb so I ate a ton! The blueberry pie filling was dense and extremely flavorful. We’ll be back!

Lobster rolls are the biggest I think I have seen here. Pricey but you get a roll overflowing with lobster. Lobster pieces were huge and juicy. Not too much mayo either. The lobster bisque was also delicious. Super hearty and a large portion size as well

Best lobster roll I've had in New England so far! Jam packed with lobster, so fresh. I got the mini lobster roll and it had as much lobster in it as a full roll at other places. No nonsense other ingredients that take away from the fresh lobster flavor. I will be dreaming about this lobster roll for years to come. ?
