We had a wonderful meal for my birthday at Havana this past weekend. The service was impeccable- our server Jess made sure that we were well taken care of, and was happy to make recommendations when we asked for help choosing between items on the menu. Each plate was jam packed with amazing flavors and textures, and the wine list was extensive. We will absolutely be back!

Where do I even begin? I am a chef, and have been a chef for a while! This place made it an experience for me! From the greeting, to the seating, to the Samuel the Sommelier, to Megan server and to the end everything was absolutely perfect! I was absolutely blown away! The Carne! With Lobster... Holy Toledo! Incredible! I cannot wait to frequent this place again! Havana you have stolen my heart! In a good way though!

Great food—flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. While the dishes leaned more toward Spanish influences than traditional Cuban flavors, everything was absolutely delicious. We had the seafood paella, the lobster moqueca, and the sopa de espárragos—all packed with rich, layered flavor. Quite tasty!

Our waiter was very attentive and courteous, making sure we felt welcome and taken care of throughout the evening. The ambiance added to the experience—cozy, vibrant, and perfect for a relaxed night out. A wonderful spot for anyone craving bold, savory flavors with a Mediterranean twist.

We found this highly rated restaurant and made a reservation prior to our trip. And boy are we glad we did. My rum and coke was top notch. As were the spring rolls and pork belly we got as appetizers. The bread and its dipping sauces were all unique and delicious. I got the paella as my entree and it was great (although maybe not as impressive as everything preceding it). I had a bite of the lobster moqueca and it was incredible (but not ideal for those of us dairy adverse). All in all, a one-of-a-kind Cuban-Maine fusion of delectable food. And the waitstaff was attentive to our every need and want. Truly a fine dining experience (but one you can wear shorts to).

Havana is now my favorite restaurant in Bar Harbor! Meghan was a wonderful and attentive server. Michael, the owner, gave us great wine suggestions for our meal. The grilled octopus (pulpo) was the best we've ever had (and we've had it in many places around the world). Summer salad was refreshing and flavorful. The paella was also delicious.

The Seafood Paella was excellent . Very EXTENSIVE wine list, Deserts were mediocre at best

Understaffed, but that is a problem everywhere now. Took a long time to get the food, and once it arrived it was just ok. Disappointing result from this James Beard nominated restaurant.

Best food in Bar Harbor. Somallier was vey helpful and picked a perfect white- crisp snd dry but fruity. Appetizers were awesome- farmer salad and shrimp with a spicy romesco style sauce. Perfectly crisp and moist shrimp! Paella was awesome, full of chorizo and shrimp. Roast chicken was a surprise- perfectly roasted with crispy skin and moist meat. Veggies has a dusting of cinnamon. One of the best pieces of chicken I have had! Finally tenderloin was perfect. Tender, flavorful, and perfect med rare temp. Bread course was a treat with blueberry cornbread. For dessert: choc cake with carmel. Server was fantastic, helpful, personable, and and attentive. Havana is one of the best ever. The highlight of our yearly trip to Bar Harbor!

Food was good but not great, our waiter was slow. Took 15 mins to ask what we wanted for dessert, by that time just wanted the check after being slow all evening.

The seafood in my husband’s paella was cooked perfectly; my stuffed sole however was extremely bland. We both needed to put lots of salt on both dishes. I’m sorry to say that the bread was my favorite part of the meal. Our server was lovely though and there was lovely live acoustic guitar music playing which was nice. We unfortunately would not eat here again.

Made reservation 3 wks in advance, graciously allowed to get a table 20 min early to get out of the rain. Seated in main dining room near party of 4 who were very loud--could hear them chewing and talking loudly with their mouths full (management can't do anything about this, but it impacted our experience adversely). Spring rolls delicious, spring salad lettuce was wet and the lime dressing thin and overly sweet. Roast chicken nicely done but in dull tomato cream sauce with merely adequate veg and potatoes. Ordered rack of lamb, but was told only then that it wasn't available that evening, and that the rib-eye steak mentioned as a special (for $56) was the substitute. Sole cooked to almost dry, wrapped around crab stuffing that was under seasoned, lobster mornay rich but nothing special (and lobster flavor largely inapparent), but the succotash under the stuffed sole was delicious. In all, pricey but average at best. Have eaten at Havana many times in past, and this was the most undistinguished meal we've had.
