Very attentive staff. Quality meats at what you expect steakhouse prices to be. My husband liked the house stout

I'm sorry to give a bad review but with all the great food we had in Main this unfortunately was in the bottom. The positive was the staff was pleasant and nice. The steak I had I would have expected it to be covered in a demi glaze peppercorn sauce but instead was in peppered water and looked like it had been boiled in it. The roasted red potatoes were just whole boiled red potatoes. The wife's steak was better but had no seasoning. Hopefully, maybe the chef was out and it was just an off-night.

I've never had a burger that was both cooked to the correct temperature and burnt... And that is the nicest thing I can say about my meal here with my family

Went 2 nights in a row. Visiting from MD. the food is very good, no question. But the portion sizes leave something to be desired- and the prices are exorbitant. $60 for the steak I had raised my eyebrows. But- when you're on vacay- you pay.
But, sincerely, I wouldn't return if this place was in my hometown.

9/25 - on a NE bus tour & stayed across the street from. steakhouse. Ventured over to the bar our first night and had such a good time that we came back for supper the next. Many locals were eating here which is always a good sign that the place is special. Everyone in our group of eight enjoyed their meals. They also have a few of their own beers, which I had to try them all & was surprised at their quality & flavor for such a small place. Retired to the bar after supper where the owner joined us for lively conversation. For those who think it's overpriced, I learned about the quality of the steaks they serve here.

The service was outstanding. Our server was attentive and informative.

The menu selection had nice variety with seafood and steaks. The house brewed beer was top notch. I wish the sold bottles.

I ordered my swordfish medium and part of it was a bit over cooked, however the rest was good. The scampi was very good as well.

The prices were reasonable
Would return.

Hate to leave a bad review, but this place earned it. Food was overcooked, drinks were bad, service was SLOW (even though there were very few people in the restaurant), and parking sucks. I would have given two stars, but the craft beer was actually pretty good

Not much of an experience. All the key measurements were a bit disappointing. I would not recommend or return to Jack Russell’s.

All was good until we received our bill. We were up charged extra for substituting for an item they were out of. The waiter didn’t advise us of the higher price.
Also the substituted item was over cooked. Three of our party agreed it wasn’t cooked properly.

Server and employees were very nice and attentive. Restaurant interior was cool. Pretzel sticks were good. However, the main event…Our ribeye and filet steaks hit the table mooing, they tossed them back on the grill and they came back a few minutes later medium well (supposed to be medium rare). We just said screw it at that point and ate what wasn’t pure char as we didn’t want to wait longer. I agree with other reviews The meat quality was on a low par with an Applebees. Our steaks were also charred to death on the outside even on first shot. Bark is one thing, charcoal is another. I don’t understand restaurants that literally have steak in their name and make steaks all day long have any of this happen. Time…grill temperature…size… it shouldn’t happen, esp. for those prices. Bar Harbor isn’t known for its food, and this place doesn’t help that stigma. If you go here, have a beer and the pretzels.

The food was good but we found it overpriced. A 4 oz filet mignon and 4 very small scallops were $36, and my husband's 10 oz. ribeye wasn't the melt-in-your-mouth tender we're used to. It was all flavored well, and we loved the pretzels instead of the usual bread most restaurants give. The lobster stew was delicious with an excellent portion of lobster meat, but I kick myself for not asking the price first (yikes!). The French Fries were absolutely delicious, very fresh, and the blueberry crumble was delish! Oh, and the service was outstanding, I can't forget to include that. Our server was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely eat there again next time we visit Acadia, but maybe be more conscious of the prices of everything being ordered.
