Meal was good. Drinks came right out but nothing else. Very slow service, although our server was very attentive. 3 entrees arrived at once (and cold.). While good, it should have been stepped up given the prices and town.

The seafood risotto was outstanding, as well as the caprese salad and the fish and chips. The boozy chocolate mousse was phenomenal. Our server, Jacob, was very friendly and on point with his recommendations and service.

Ingredients were fresh but the preparations were uninspiring and barely flavorful. Sauces were watery. Portions were small.

Wonderful experience all around! The truffle pasta, short rib, and mixed drinks were beyond delicious.

Love McKay's for the food and the service. the Staff are so friendly and inviting, over the past 15/20 years we have been visiting Bar Harbor we always plan an evening at McKay's, it's one of the highlights of our visit.

Seated quickly in the upstairs dining room. Our server was surprisingly poor, spoke very little to us, acted like we were a bother, didn't make recommendations, walked by and put the dessert menu on the table without a word, did the same with the bill. Weird. We had the buffalo wings which were good, but we do not recommend as it was $17 for 5 little wings, one carrot stick, two celery. I had the McKay salad which was good and my husband had the Harvest Burger which he thought was adequate. I'd recommend eating elsewhere.

This restaurant is a Bar Harbor gem. The staff argentine in wanting you to have the best food and atmosphere time while there! We had a great time there and look forward to visiting McKays again when we visit this area.

We've been coming here for years and trust the kitchen. Great bar serves up awesome cocktails and a wide range of beer and wine. Great servers make the evening even better.

Great service. Food was wonderful—especially the seafood risotto! Looking forward to returning to McKay's on our next trip to Maine.

My hamburger was cold, the risotto special was cold, the portions were small. The oysters were great!

Their bar has a cool vibe, low lighting and variety of cocktails. First rounds were fantastic. There is some interesting architecture inside this old home turned restaurant with multiple floors and rooms. Its casual setting is perfect for visitors who don't over pack. The truffled seafood risotto was rich and delicious but could possibly be replicated at home. Although a tad bit dry, the lemon herb chicken dish was eaten up entirely. Pass on the Irish Whisky and order a dessert instead.

Great place , great food . If you come in hungry or have a larger appetite, look for those type of dishes . We loved what we ordered , but for the price of some items we should have gotten more . But I will return with a different strategy next time .

Enjoyed the steak frietes and smash burger. Steak was cooked perfectly and the MCK smash burger was pretty awesome. They were busy but the food and service didn't suffer.

We had high hopes and booked a reservation 2 days in advance. We waited an hour after ordering for our food. Would not have been so bad if our Waiter had said something but nope. The fall risotto I ordered was $32 and the portion size was that of an appetizer. Fish and chips only had one piece of fish and did not taste very good and was soggy. We were both still very hungry and had to get something else to eat after. Disappointing at $100.

Waited a long time for everything. Dinner took over 2 hrs. Risotto needs some pizazz. Meatloaf and sticky toffee pudding was great.
