Absolutely amazing Dinner! The french onion was amazing. Our server was so friendly, we sat upstairs, and attentive. McKay's is a Must recommend while in Bar harbor.

Our McKay's visit last week was awesome!!!! Through a reservation, they set us up in a separate room for our daughter's wedding celebration of 22. They were also very accommodating for our large party in their small bar. The service and staff were fantastic. The food was exceptional with plenty of regular menu and special items for us to choose from. We enjoyed the Lobster Mac & Cheese, Fish and Chips, Spring Salmon, Steak Frites, Beef Short Ribs, Truffled Seafood Risotto, Fall featured Risotto, and the featured Halibut with Lobster Risotto. Everyone raved about their dishes. We couldn't have asked for a better and enjoyable experience in this rustic setting. McKays is an absolute must visit.

Fantastic dinner and drinks, everything we had was a banger. Elevated pub food and classy cocktails, shoots the middle between casual and fancy well.

Pros: cool atmosphere and outdoor seating (when it is warm)
Cons: waited over an hour for our food in combination with seating us at the farthest table outside in the corner where heat was limited and it was cold, over priced for the portions, food was warm and good, but not great, waitress rarely came by to check on us and never gave updates or apologized for the wait. Not the best first experience at Bar Harbor

Meal was good. Drinks came right out but nothing else. Very slow service, although our server was very attentive. 3 entrees arrived at once (and cold.). While good, it should have been stepped up given the prices and town.
I wouldn’t say there was anything to write home about. The highlight was the gluten-free seafood risotto, and the short rib. Everything was a bit overpriced, and the mussels tasted very fishy and were all crunchy. Because of the gluten-free options, I’m giving this a four star, but I don’t think the food was anything special.

Have eaten here a few times over the years and it never quite satisfies. Have experienced over salted food on many occasions and dishes have arrived cool or cold. With so many options to choose from in Bar Harbor I would give this one a miss.

The seafood risotto was outstanding, as well as the caprese salad and the fish and chips. The boozy chocolate mousse was phenomenal. Our server, Jacob, was very friendly and on point with his recommendations and service.
Ingredients were fresh but the preparations were uninspiring and barely flavorful. Sauces were watery. Portions were small.
Wow was this delicious. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience all around! The truffle pasta, short rib, and mixed drinks were beyond delicious.
