It honestly feels like you’ve found a little Italian gem tucked right into Bar Harbor.

We sat out on the patio and it was just nice — relaxed, cozy, and great for people-watching. The service was awesome the whole time: super friendly, checked in when needed, but didn’t hover. The place itself is really clean and has that warm “you’re gonna eat well here” vibe, and the smells coming out of the kitchen were incredible.

The menu sounded amazing, and most of the food delivered. The bread was solid, and the lentil soup was fine — definitely better once the cheese melted in, otherwise it was a bit on the plain side. The Duck Marsala was really tasty, and the potato puree with it was so good, though the duck skin was a little chewier than I’d prefer. The beef dish was the highlight: super tender, rich wine sauce, and that bone marrow had such a good garlicky flavor. I just wish there had been more of the potato puree to go with it instead of the roasted carrots — it felt like the dish needed a little more of that creamy base to balance everything out.

Overall Impression:
Really good spot with great service and an enjoyable vibe. A couple small tweaks could make the dishes feel more worth the price, but we still left happy — and that patio makes it easy to want to come back.

The Duck marsala dish was not for me. Maybe a mistake was made. Not sure what the hard chunks/bits were in the marsala sauce that the duck was resting on, but it had the texture of dry chicken and did not taste like a mushroom I've had before. It was a powerful flavor like aged cheese. I almost wonder if some cheese or something fell into the marsala sauce. I couldn't eat it as it didn't go with the flavors in the dish. The duck was cooked properly and the butternut squashed mashed potatoes were fine, but the flavor of the marsala sauce really wrecked it for me. Maybe something was off with my plate.

This had so much promise but ended in total failure. My partner loved her food until she was home and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom. It was the chicken piccata. I had the ravioli stuffed with short rib. Very large ravioli’s that were in a Cacio E Pepe sauce. As I broke into my first ravioli work further into the ravioli it was ice cold. These ravioli were premade (not a big issue but obviously then frozen and not even close to be heated up properly. This dish was $44 now I don’t care about price if I get a good meal but to do such a poor job on all levels is unacceptable. I was drawn into the ratings being so good but this is a place I will never visit again. Oh by the way they did make me another plate to go and offered me a desert. So I did get an additional cannoli for my experience. Never Again or at the very least don’t get any plate with the Cacio E Pepe sauce being used.

We are on evening 3 of 5 in Bar Harbor. We’ve been very fortunate with our dining choices but Porcelli’s is the best of our dinners. The chef’s presentation of Bolognese was fantastic and our server, Stacy, was terrific. It would be impossible to NOT enjoy an evening’s repast here.
Because to make a reservation… it’s that good.

Lovely evening at Porcelli’s. Service from Dianna was first class. She was efficient, and friendly. We enjoyed the house salad, focaccia and Bolognese. The Bolognese was rich and delicious. We aren’t big eaters so splitting these three plus wine was perfect for us. I would strongly recommend.

Our food was incredible (we got the gnocchi and the special, a braised beef ravioli) and our server Kanique were a complete dream! She took amazing care of us and recommended the special (and she did NOT steer us wrong). We will be back!

Such a great addition to Bar Harbor! Everything we ordered was delicious, but the short rib ravioli was particularly good. Kanique took such good care of us. We’ll absolutely be back.

Food quality & service was excellent. The waitperson was friendly & courteous. There were a couple of missteps with my order (foccaccia was not brought to my table; the dessert I ordered was unavailable); however, I felt like it was handled quickly & professionally. I would definitely recommend them & plan to return.

This was a great break from seafood during a 5 day stay. The food and service was fantastic! Great wine selection and it gave our 2 1/2 year old some pasta that he loved! Great experience all around.
